Accesories Price List Is In
My dealer called last week informing me the accessories price list was in. He suggested I put my order in now as it may be a short supply available and the usual first come first serve.
Here’s what I ordered for my Lightning Yellow GT;
Rear spoiler $629.99
Rotary Crest Front $129
Rotary Crest Rear $139
Exhaust Finishers $464.69
Aluminum Scuff Plates $389.95
All Weather Mats $109.95
Wheel Locks $51.20
Inner Door Protector with RX-8 Logo $49.00
Other accessories he quoted as available were the cargo net, cargo tray, front air dam, side deflectors, air outlet garnish, center caps, polished rims, and mud flaps.
Wondering what others are getting for their RX-8’s.

Jasper,
Prices are with installation. There is some work the dealer has to perform to install them. I was assuming the price he quoted was not inflated Ontario GTA prices. Interested to see what the prices out east are.

Ricer is Nicer.....
Prices?
You all seem to be taking these prices very well.
I realise I am new to this 'new car' stuff, but are those prices for REAL?
$629 for a spoiler? Should that lump of plastic really cost more than a new refrigerator?
SCUFF plates that cost $389? There is no way that two slices of aluminum are worth 1% of the cars total price! I must be missing something. 'Course that includes installation, you DO have to open the doors to screw them in.
"Exhaust Finishers" that cost $464? Just how 'un-finished' is the exhaust? The last time I bought a catalytic converter it was only half that price! (including some platinum!)
Last week I picked up two of those 'cargo nets' for $2.50@.
As far as I can see, identical. Mazda wants 20 times that.
Time to go cool off,

Relative to the prices of the accessories in the US, Mazda Canada prices aren't out of line. Relative to other aftermarket vendors, though, both Mazda NAO AND Mazda Canada are overpriced! You can bet that Moss Motors, Racing Beat, etc. will quickly have accessory catalogues out with lower prices for similar items.

Are these US or Canadian outlets? If they are in the States there will probably be little savings after you add the exchange, shipping, brokerage, etc. etc.

My question is, why are the car covers not available in Canada?
I got the Accessories list from my dealer the other day (in pdf, so I don't think I could attach it) and they aren't even listed.
I think I'll just be ordering the Alarm Shock Sensor ($56.65) and Wheel Locks ($31.20) for now.
Safety first! :D

Assuming it's what I think it is, it should be sensor (or sensors) that tie into the security system and detect any impacts on the car, or if some tries to jack it up or tow it. A guy here at work has one on his Civic. The only problem with them is if there is construction going on, as the heavy machinery can make the car shake enough to set the alarm off.
If you send me a message with your email, I'll send you a copy of the pdf.

Just got off the phone with my salesperson. He says all of the accesories I ordered are in. He looked at each one individually and was very impressed with the Lightning Yellow colour and the aluminum scuff plates. Sure made my day before taking off to the East Coast for my holidays.
Sure wish my car would come as quick as the accessories. I would even be happy if it took twqice as long!

Ugh! The Mazda site said that the accessories list would be up by the first week of July. Well it's Friday and still no list. We know it's out since SOME dealers have them and they were nice enough to call their customers to let them know. Anyone want to guess what my local dealer(s) replied when I called to see if they had the accessories price list!

Here is the official accessories price list from my guy.
Mac: Which dealer in Ottawa have you been going to, I've got to find one for servicing only and maybe some extra accessories down the road and I havn't been impressed with anybody yet.

I've just checked out the price list. So I did see those outrageous prices in early June. This is my whish list
air outlet polished accents $400, rotary accents $112/130, parking break $309, scuff plates $370, exhaust tips $386, rotary wheel caps $57 (each?). My total would increase by an eye popping $ 1,935 and that doesn't include installation! I think I'll just go for the rotary accents and wheel caps. The rest I will get from 3rd party vendors.
BTW, what are side deflectors (body kit or windows)? I don't see the aluminum gas cap listed, nor the colour options for the fogs (I prefer yellow tint). Wasn't the Canadian 8 supposed to come with the spare tire kit (law)?
Other tidbits, notice that the web site now states 247hp instead of the 250hp from the brochures.

I am not surprised to see the dealers are gouging on the accessories.
I am going to Tokyo on the 20th, and there is a sales rep for our company who works there.
In collaboration with jeremy from the US side (also on this list) we have dug up all the pricing and items in Japan, and we are putting together a group buy.
I will handle getting the stuff shipped to our office in Edmonton, and from there individual freight choices are up to the individual. We have accounts with Fedex (both air and ground), DHL, and Purolator.
If interested email me off list and I will send a list with Japanese prices, the Canadian and US dollar equivalents, and links to pictures of the parts.

Thanks for your time, and now back to your regular zooming!

I was thinking about getting the alarm shock sensor, the strakes, and both the front and rear rotary crests. The GT I have on order is Titanium Grey.

The fender strakes, are called the "air outlet garnishes" as far as my guy told me. But I'm waiting to see the catalogue when it comes out before I spend the $400. I'd hate for those to turn out being the little ring around the inside vents.

This town isn't big enough for 3 titanium grey 8's, both of you will have to change the colour of your car 'cause I want mine to be titanium
Originally, I was going for the blue since grey is everywhere this year (titanium, gun metal, charcoal) but when I saw a picture of the Titanium with tan inserts... nice! I would rather have the Green with tan inserts but Mazda gazed in their crystal ball and decided that Canada was simply too green and we wouldn't want it. As much as I like the green I find that the 8's is too dark, it only looks green in full sun (at least that what the pics look like). All of this diatribe is moot since Green isn't an option and somehow I don't think that you guys are about to change your colour selection because I'm asking nicely.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Where did you order your RX-8? I went to Performance Mazda.

I just moved here so I'm getting mine from the maritimes, delivery should oincide with a little vacation, driving it back will break in the engine in one weekend.
I'm thinking of getting the servicing and maybe the accessories installed at Performance though, I don't like the guys on Bank, they gave me a bad feeling.
