I took Grasshopper for a spin last night after it was installed but he didn't want to drive it because he wanted to remain emotionally unattached... LOL. However, when he felt himself being pushed back in his seat while in 4th gear, I think I heard him say dammit
yeah, the 4.777 is just awesome. I completely admit i was wrong and I've seen the light. there is no doubt in my mind that our cars should have come stock with those gears in them. The top of third gear and you can feel yourself being pushed back into your seat with some real force still and you are thinking "oh darn, here comes 4th gear". but suprise, theres power there too! haha. I love it. I just might have to sell one of my guitars to help fund my own install.
Yeah scott, i did curse a bit. You and your gorgeous/fast car are breaking my heart. lol
It will have to wait for a bit before i do this though as im budgeting for the gas consumption and speeding tickets that i'll incure after the install. lol.

lol okok I've decided WRC is not good afterall haha. I need to learn how to set up better run in for passing next time...so I won't divebomb, I mean, er, fail bomb again at the corners...
btw any pics posted yet? I will post mine shortly.

Now that it has been a while ... and you have had more time to drive it around the streets ... what are you thoughts on driving in heavy traffic, or parking lots? Does the car want to get away from you when you are bumper to bumper or does if feel normal like it would have before? Just curious if you have found any challenges with this.
I had a chance to drive Thunders car yesterday, took it around a few major streets and the car drives almost normally, but you notice a lot more torque.
Gotta say, this is the next thing i'm doing to my car!

As requested, here's a bit of an update...
* I still love the mod.
* Can coast along in stop and go traffic with greater ease. Get the sense that there is more torque, so not as much effort to get off line line and move along. Also, can more easily stay in a gear when slowing down because it has more usable power to pull you out of it without bogging
* Definitely feels faster with car pulling harder through gears. Hit redline faster and even 4th gear can push you back in your seat -- the swetness of 3rd gear is now shared with 4th.
* Don't have a read on gas mileage but if others that have this mod are any indication, you will lose a mile or two per gallon. I am generally at a higher RPM level because it's easier and more fun to get there, so I would expect that my gas mileage has gone down by at least a mile or 2 per gallon, amount.
* No regrets, still highly recommended for anyone that wants their 8 to get off line quicker with more perceived torque and like to bury the tachometer

^ LOL, true!
I guess the only people it wouldn't be good for are those overly concerned with gas mileage and keeping the revs down most of the time because of gas mileage concerns) and those with FI... don't need gearing so high to get her off the line...
