I just have a few questions regarding the new RX8 SE that im wondering if anyone here can help answer. I know alot of info are posted about this in the other part of the forum but Im not sure if the Canada spec is the same.

1) are they limited production model?

2) are they the same price as the GT or more expensive?

3) does it come w/ the mazda keyless entry/start system?

4) is it availble in cooper red only?

5) is it basically a GT but w/ Alcantara and darker rims?

The car has a few trim items, a "urethane injected cross member" yes it is a limited edition, yes only one color.

 

What difference will the urathane injected xmember have?

 

To my knowlege it is only available in Japan

 

The copper-red version is coming in Canada. But, each dealer has to order it... it just does not get built and shipped unless ordered.

It is supposed to be second installment of Shinka!

 

does that mean it would very hard to negociate the price?? since some people here are apparently getting the 2005 GT for like 35k + tax. and this SE is 42K + tax. essentially $7000 for the alcantara, different paint (not special since even Mazda3 has it) and keyless start?

That sounds about right. This is a 2006 Special Edition model coming out which has to be pre-ordered. Now, you can try and negotiate to get some $ cheaper on maybe delivery or acccesories but that would be it.

The urethane filled cross-member is supposed to be a very good thing.
Some ppl like the alcantra inside... i personaly prefer dark interiors as light seats are a b!tch to clean for me.
But, the main thing is: this is carrying the SE badge. It is a special edition. Only 300 for North America. So, you are buying something rare.

Thanks for all the info guys. I decided to post here instead of asking a local dealer becauase I'm still in the researching stage and won't be seriously looking at it until end of April when I move to another city. Last time we went to a Subaru dealer to check out the WRX the salesman called us like every 2nd week whenever a new/used WRX comes in, very annoying, ( which i guess worked.. since we now have a 2006 WRX in the garage) so I was trying to stay away from them until I'm offically in the market for one.

none the less I finally contacted the dealer last night and they said mazda havent annouce the offical release date for the SE yet but they are accepting pre-orders atm, so I guess i have lots of time.
