2006 Pricing Released
We received our 2006 RX-8 pricing the other day, the GS model went up by $100.00 and the GT model went up $300.00--a very minimal increase!
2006 RX-8's should start to arrive at dealerships late April!

Shoot. When I was at Gyro last week they were writing up an order for a 2006 with the new grey mica colour. Availability was about a month away (the sales guy was looking at some sheet showing actual manufacture in Hiroshima). I had the colour and interior and all options set to go when the sales manager came over and said 'sorry...we don't have pricing for this car'. I ended up leasing a 2005 GT that I assume is coming through a dealer swap. Alan, was I hosed into taking a surplus car when I could have continued with the 2006 considering pricing was set just one week AFTER my transaction? Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

With the run up in the Canadian dollar and the americans getting cars for less then us while we have lower saleries they should not have raised the price at all, do you know if Mazda Canada will honour a Ameican Warrenty? I was thinking of buying my car down south.
BTW - I know Subaru will honour warrenty from the US, ( I'm suprised they sell any cars here at all when you can almost get a STI in the US for just over 40 grand CAD)
But comparativly I guess it is a fairly insignifigant increase, I think the price on a WRX went up by 500, lol, it will cost you the same as a US STI, now thats messed up.

Thanks a lot for the update Alan. I'm assuming the standard equipment are exactly the same as 2005 ? What about the pricing on the options, like NAV, Spoiler etc. ? any extra options available this time around ?

yea after the taxes and maybe duty and all the other safety inspections and all that other crap you prolly end up saving a few hundred not worth the hassle.. i think..unless its a used car..

I seriousley doubt you'll see anything new in the rx-8 ever. Everything there is to offer is in the car. Usually two years after a car is released they through the nav system in it. But we already have the option to buy. But hey! thats just my opion

As of January 17, 2006 these are the annouced changes:
"new 6speed auto transmission, engine 212 HP and 159 LBFT torque"
"6MT engine HP decrease from 238 to 232"

The only other changes are exterior color changes.

2006 Shinka is copper red, sorta burgandy. The same color as on the 06 MX5 and the interior has a nice pattern in the center of the seat same leather as previous Shinka but devided with pattern portion in the same places as the two tone seats, looks like it will be nice for ventilation of the derier. Saw it in a book at the dealership while getting serviced.
