*****Ottawa Meet 2005*****
It's almost time for the annual Ottawa Mazda Meet!! Details will be ironed out in this thread. Note that we are returning to the Corel Centre this year. This meet is open to all Mazda cars .
WHEN: **MAY 21-22 Long Weekend**
MAY 21st: The meet starts with a show and shine in the Corel Center parking lot on May 21st at 2pm. This is a good time to show off your car and snap some pictures. Afterwards, everyone is invited to Ricardo's shop (5mins from Corel) for BBQ and drinks.
MAY 22nd: Everyone is invited to the Cumberland/Masson ferry at 9am for a huge cruise in Quebec through some of the nicest roads you'll ever see. We'll be doing a similar route to last year, so it's not for the faint of heart (or weak stomachs)... this is THE highlight of the weekend.
As usual, directions to all the spots will be provided at the Corel Centre.
Hope to see everyone there!!!
If anyone needs specific info, please email rxcetera@hotmail.com
Feel free to post this thread in other Mazda forums .

Lawyer's Spirit,
We always meet up at Fairview Mall early on Sat. Usually the guys coming from the West stop there to rendezvous with the GTA guys. From there we head West till about Kingston (some FD's burn more fuel than God intended to). Meet up with some people who live in the Kingston area and then we head up to the Corel Center.
I think this year we might have to stop in Belleville shortly to meet up with Danielson and company...

hmmmm good question. I found you this link on google...it's got a lot of good choices on it. If you choose something, post it or pm me and I can tell you how it rates (in general). The expensive hotels are downtown. I believe there's a Comfort Inn just off the highway in Kanata (near the show n shine meet) and also a Holiday Inn around there. Both are decent/nice places. Kanata is only about 15-20 mins from downtown if you want to venture there anyway.

Wing, I have to ask:
1) Where is the road from nowhere to nowhere pictured above?
and
2) Regarding the roads you speak of around Lake Placid. There is a fairly twisty one that loops the Saranac Lakes and a nice chunk of road between Lake Placid and Whiteface. Is there some other gem around there that you know of? I may be down there for a last ski this weekend in the 8 as opposed to the Outback with winter tires, that will add a new dimension to things :-)
BTW sorry for rambling off topic in this thread. I will be there for the Ottawa drive again this year, last year was awesome, this is a do not miss event!!! There is a bunch of really tight twisty stuff that I found very entertaining, more so than the sweepers you find on better roads.

scoop, yes there are tons around that area actually, if you stay off the main highways you get no traffic and can easily do 60mph or 70mph with no worries. That road pictured is called Tracy Rd, it's near the highway junction of 87 and 91 I believe.

Ah ha! Thanks!!! That's a tiny bit south east of the areas I have been. I am very careful passing through all the little towns to the north of Placid, each one no matter how small seems to have its own Sheriff car parked in some stealthy location.
