Question/observation....
All Hail the might Boowana!
*bow in reverence*
*moment of silence*
That being said, I have some interesting observations about boowana's first set of pics....
1. Anybody else notice the almost total LACK of people around this car? (with the exception of a rep)
2. Pic 1: cleaning stuff in the background
3. Front fender pic: Lincoln display in background
4. Door open pic: Saturn display in background, staircase empty
Obviously no one else is around. So Boowana is well connected enough to get on the display floor before others. Also of note is that the other displays are dark....so does the might Boowana have the ability to turn on the lights for just this display?
Don't get me wrong....this is GREAT!!!!
I am just wondering how connected our benefactor is. My guess: senior VP or higher.
Edit: Okay, just found out we are in the "pre-public period". Still want to know how he got in though....

simplest solution...
obviously, the guys a fanatic. hes crazy. wacked out a couple a gaurds with gas/tranq darts from a mile off. Stealthily infiltrated the compound, took down any stragglers with a quick vulcan grip or chop to the back of the neck. Whipped out his digital spy camera, custom built by the nut lol...or stolen...from the GOVERNMENT took a couple shots, disapeared out the window...
"the man's a ghost"

There are just two power window switches. They're at the bottom of the door control panel. Just above them are the door lock switch and power window passenger lockout switch. And above those is the power mirror adjustment.
What *I* want to know is, are those fender vents (behind the front wheels) functional after all or no? I can't see from the pics one way or the other.

I believe that the vents are indeed functional. See the attached diagram of the 1999 rx-7:
The enlarged wheel arches of the rx-8 look to be perfect to allow large oil cooler ducts eh? :D

Wait just a little more
Boowana hear.
Tomorrow morning, I will get hundreds of shots of everything imaginable on the car. The re will be three RX-8s here for us to crawl through, play with, etc.
After talking with some Mazda guys, the plan will be to let the crowds go through first and hang around until after to take lots of photos.
Depending on time and schedules, I will do my best to post before I leave Detroit as I have a plane to catch tomorrow. If I don't get it done, I will start downloading tomorrow night.
Keep watching!!!:D

I don't know if the vents behind the wheel are for the oil coolers, or simply to extract engine bay air, but with the one labeled shot, it appears that it is open.
I don't what the heat exchangers in the openings next to the foglights are for, but something's in there...
