Wing Mirror Bulb Help
Okay, am slowly replacing bulbs with LED's. I like the look.
How the hell do you get to the ones in the Wing Mirrors????
I checked the DIY's to no avail.
Anyone done it??

Why check PM - share.
I put the mirrror as far inside as possible and use Mrs Taka's eye brow modifying tool to pick the bulb. Twist anticlockwise and take it out of the case (outside so you can see).
Take the bulb out and change it. Make sure the LED works first (since you put them the other way round it may not work). Then put them back gently (but careful not to drop the bulb in the well - otherwise take you ages to get it back). Then it is done.

Mike,
Remind me to check out your bulb mods on the cruise.
As you know, I have replaced parkers, fogs and reverse lights with brilliant white bulbs (to give a xenon look to match the headlights) but I kinda figured I liked the softer puddle lighting in the mirrors.
I'll be interested to see the difference.
BTW, are you talking real LED bulbs or just something that looks like that?

Real LED's. Have been buying them off ebay and bought lots of different ones. All 194/T10's. The internal ones are fantastic. Bright white instead of yellow. Think Taka posted photo's of his. (also did the dome light)
Can't wait to try out the puddle lights and the front parker. Bought a couple of 1W Led's to do that. Have the same ones in my map lights now and they are somewhat startling when you first open the door!!!

Mike, have you had any issues with your indicators flashing at double rate? (Assuming you have changed over the indicators)
I've done the LED conversion (minus the puddle lights thanks for the big tip!) and found a mod for the flasher relay so you dont have to put ballast resistors on all 6 lights.

Cheers,

P.S. I bought a set of red, blue and UV LED's for the interior and decided to go with the blue ones. So the others are up for grabs if anyone wants them.
Also I've been getting my bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com

Jared,
haven't got to the indicators yet, think a foglamp upgrade might be next after i put the parkers in. You can buy Led flasher compatable relays for about $15.
Want to find a superbright option for the reverse light. Some 24 Led options in the US but would prefer less bulbs and more watts. Have a couple of flat single bulb 1w that are blinding!
Cheers
M
And the skip's still in the driveway so no piccies yet!
