Zephyr, I question if this will ever happen....below is a post I made back in May.
It's been a while, and if the feedback we gave them on the pricing is anything to go by......well, who knows if it will ever be available .

A sunlight silver 8 was there with all the gear...looked fat.
Sit down 'cos I'm gonna throw some prices at ya........
Proposed fitted prices for the body kit.....incl mirrors, skirts, front and rear bumpers, bootlid adjustable spoiler.......$9500
18" Mazdasport wheels with S03's........$9000!!....Hymee will like this.....$900 for rear muffler.
Water temp, oil pressure and oil temp gauge set....$2700 fitted.
The cheapest bit of carbon look trim cost $200, for the door switch panel, I think....sorry couldn't take notes! Swaybars $700 each.....They wanted our opinions on price, the front bumper at $2600 seemed O.K....rear was $1600 or so. These prices are suggested of course.....Most of us thought the gear was too dear, the shocks were good at $400 a pair.
There is a problem with the word "speed".....worried about the authorities.....Showed us a logo of MSE (Mazda Sports Enhanced) with the Mazdaspeed logo underneath, ie MSE by Mazdaspeed.
The Mazdaspeed decals on the car looked great, 2" square decals just above and aft of the flutes.....
Regards, Gomez.

There was a hint in the last RX-8 drive day that they are close to sign a deal with MazdaSpeed Japan. As typical Australians, Mazda Australia does things very slowly....
hopefully not in the Pickering camp
Their margin will be 100%+ for each item - what the hell Lock is talking about! They will earn a fortune. Shipment is cheap (coz they can ship with each shipment of RX-8), cost is lower than RRP Japan (can be as low as 60%), and they are selling 200%+ of RRP in Japan!
They will get MazdaSpeed not for RX-8 but for the Mazda 3 - which are going attract more customers!

Mark my words, Mazdaspeed will be available through Australian dealers very shortly.
It won't be called Mazdaspeed but it will be available in one form or another.
The only issue at the moment is pricing.
Good things come to those who wait!

..... shortly...
I will not hold my breath for it .....
Anyway - I think the most they do is bodykit really. Unlikely they will have the whole range of MS stuff. But I am going to wait for some items like MS kit, flywheel and clutch.
and please don't tell me they are going to call it "Mazda Excite" .

Mind you know that I've ordered mine I don't want the resale price to drop either. :p
I aksed about Mazdaspeed at my dealer and answer was highly unlikely - insufficient demand from customers apparently.

The bloody swaybars were $700 each.....
I'm with sco on this, drop the price and the market will respond.

The only thing that makes MS parts appealing is potentially a factory backed warranty from Mazda.
Perhaps this is why Mazda have slugged a "warranty-markup" on the price of MS parts?
There are plenty of other aftermarket brands out there that have products equal if not superior to the MS parts in quality and performance.
I know where I'm spending my money if Mazda doesn't drop the pricing on MS parts.

Actually you can buy MS from any Mazda Dealer in NZ and Aust.
Best thing to do though is to goto www.mazda.co.jp/mazdaspeed/
Find the parts you want ring your Mazda Dealer give them the part numbers and they will get the parts from Japan. Considering Mazda NZ buys it parts through Mazda Aust. You aussies should be able to get them fine.
As i've said before just order the parts and they will arrive.
Alternatively I could give you my contact @ Mazda over here and she can sort you out with MS parts if you'd like ?
