what would you do if Mazda Aust give you the BUYBACK option?

would you take it?

reason for asking was because of a conversation i had today with one of my mates. told him that i have booked the 8 in for the SSp thingy and then he asked........ "what would you do if Mazda Aust give you the buyback option when they find out a major defect to the 8"?

i replied: "i will take it and get something else!"

What would you do?

Given it's a major defect we're talking about here, take the money and run. But the buy-back that occured in the States was because the motor made less power than originally advertised. If that happened here, and we had the same options as the US folk, I would have kept the car and taken something like free servicing or extended warranty.

Get my money back use the girlfriends car for a year or what not as the money gains interest in the bank then buy something else.

Looking at the 2005 Mustangs actually already.

Choppy, bank interest is below CPI, therefore getting negative returns. Better off enjoy it with a car, or put it in a managed fund. Or deposit for property.

Yeah the manage funds are doing very well 10%+ in the last 4 months. ... A turn in 3 years. If I went back where it were 3 years ago ... I can then afford all the mods available..

I would not take the buy back. I am more likely to buy RX8 again - and it will be black or white...

HSBC? they have good returns.

high yield managed funds are good for people that like to be conservative with their money and financial education.

Mazda UK would have to offer more than a buy back, they'd have to prise my cold dead hands off the steering wheel. I wouldn't even swap it for a new one, as after 14K, its just getting better and better. Pulls far harder in top than in the first few thousand k's, and I'm getting a 1l/100km better.

But if Mazda Australia did do a buy back, I might be able to get hold of one when I'm down there in 3.5 weeks

Cheers
---Dave

The series-9 version is not due to be shown off until late-05 or even 06. Quite a wait you know.

Guys, big differences between Mazda America & Mazda Australia too.

Mazda Australia are way too **** for this type of service. They would never offer a buy back.

Places the poor hard working dealers in a meat-in-the-sandwhich deal too. Got friends that work in sales, service & parts for various dealerships & the crap they are forced to put up with when dealing with MazOz would blow your mind. Oh the stories I could tell.............

I hope nissan would offer that too.... then I will sell all my kits, exhaust and return the car back to standard form, then return it to nissan and get a R34 gtr for now.

turbo is way too much fun and easier to be tuned up for more power AND also more troubles if the car has the problem well, that's just the downside.

cheers,

richie
