Boy could I tell you some truly great stories of those 2 and their 3rd partner in crime Warren. At their retirement dinners all the guests were in tears with laughter!

I've always said their antics would make a superb cop/buddy movie!

Hey guys, i have received some sound advice from all of your replies, so thankyou.

Great story Stu, its funny u say that actually, i found out a week later (once i was back in sydney and the store being in QLD) that the work ute from the shop was of the same colour as the marks on my panel.....interesting. Unsure if it has any damage itself though.

Taka, i hate to hear about other peoples pain, because now i know how much it hurts, but yr story made me feel like im not alone!

Seriously tho, ive calmed down a bit now, and realise that u cant help these things, and i could get all hot blooded about it and chase them down, but i honestly believe they are not worth my time and effort. Besides, karma is a bitch and im sure it will come back around twofold.

It does bite the big one being under 25 (how dare I?) and having a "dangerous sports car" as my insurance company tells me, and as my excess is so high, im just going to shop around and get it fixed in my own time.
I do hope to have it all repaired before this years 'nats as the embarrassment im feeling just driving around now will be multiplied when alongside such nice rides as some forum member possess.

So thanks again everyone, and if any sydneysiders see a ti grey driving around with a bit of rear 1/4 damage, wave gday, but please try not to point and laugh.......

Ash.

Ash, its not a dangerous sports car, its a high powered vehicle in the hands of an "inexperienced" driver which is deemed to be dangerous.

Cheers

Cool

Ash M I cringed as I read your post. So sorry about your car. I was just like you at your age.....had an Alfa and was fasitidious with it. Ask my other half he used to service it....he has told me how he would be as careful as a cat not to get any marks or grease anywhere it shouldn't be cause I would get so angry and I have an eye for details so I would never miss a trick.

I can tell you that as you age so too you mellow about your car. Yes I get angry cause some ingrate halfwit has managed to ding both my back doors and although Bruce has a hard time seeing it I can. I had a sh*t P plater hit me at lights and then tell me that a bumper repairer could fix $7k damage...I politely replied that if he wanted to walk without a nasty limp I would need his details....

I got 4 new corners the other day too, I am so **** that I make a time and thenstand and watch them do it...I am a bad customer but I don't care and the tyre shop guy who I go to knows me well. Poor thing. However Stu's story is priceless and shows how doing a job like that for that long gives you a good gut feeling.

Revolver has made great points too and in the big game of life there is kharma and every dog has their day so don't distress yourself cause the universe will re-align the shakra of the person who dented your car..and more than likely it won't be an enjoyable experience for them.

I have learnt a tough lesson, a car is an inanimate object, it can be damaged but in the right hands can be repaired to be like new, it can be lost to others, go on fire, break down and cost you a lot. At the end of the day you survived and your car did too. People won't laugh and stare at your battle scars they will know or have had the same thing happen to them and will share you pain as we have.

I hope the third thing is something minimal like mine......broke off the tab that keeps the console lid in place.....damn......gonna see if I can claim it on warranty!!!

Take care and keep on smiling

Oh yeah and shop around for your insurance...some places give a better deal....

....
Julia, Crookie replaced mine no questions asked. I think it's an acknowledged design fault - not up to the task at all. I have to warn passengers not to lean on the console lid.
