What does this mean?

While driving today, my oil light, brake light, traction and ABS light came on. As this happened, the ECU limited my speed from ~110 to 100.

They remained lit until I got home and restarted the engine. Any ideas on what exactly happened and why they came on?

sCANalyzer does not report any DTC error codes either. oil + all fluid levels seem to be fine.

Ah well... I had another look at your post and realised that you had checked the oil levels.. Reinforces my old teacher's comments "bright kid who can solve very complex problems, but sometimes lacks attention to detail"

Yup. The car kept doing that every day until Thurs, even with speeds of around 70'ish and taking corners it felt as though the DSC was off.

Had the car booked in on Thursday - delivered to Westend at 8am. They plugged it into their computers and it showed a DTC "Mismatch" error code. (I'm still wondering why sCANalyzer didnt pick that one up hmm). Anyway, they went over everything, to check if it was all plugged in properly then took it for a test drive with their diagnostics computer and couple and could not find the problem.

I got called at 10am to come down and take the tech out as he could not duplicate the fault. Anyway, went down to the M4/great western hwy with him for around 20 minutes, and it didnt do anything. The car drove normally, took corners the way it does when DSC is turned on so I left it at that. They said it was most probalby a loose connection/dirty sensor cos thats all they actually checked before taking it for a test drive.

Its (almost) Sunday now and it hasnt played up since so i guess that was probably it.

I guess so. I think there is a sensor at all wheel hubs which are directly connected to the PCM and report wheel speed and trip when one wheel spins faster/slower than the rest (wheel spin). I'm not 100% sure if thats how it works, but thats what I got told anyway.

mikeyr - the DSC lights (if only DSC) comes on when there is abnormal wheel speeds thus wheel spins. If you hit a pothole, then its pretty normal for the DSC to probably come on as there will be some minor difference in wheel speeds depending on which wheel goes over the bump etc.

If it comes on again during normal driving, then you might need to get it checked out.

Keep us posted Mike.

We might be discovering another problem that needs to be checked out while warranty is still good.
