Does the Welcome Pack come only once youve taken delivery or is it shipped after ordering ?? I ordered 6 weeks ago, got the book about 4 weeks ago but no sign of the key !!

 

After delivery. What's the book everyone is talking about?

 

Its a hard cover coffee table style book that outlines the development for the 8 from concept car to production. The second half of the book goes into a history of rotary racing .. its interesting reading

got ours today. Included:
colour coded key (only one side colour coded, the other is metallic silver)
little blue light (keyring i guess, nothing special, no RX-8 or anything)
a card ( i guess telling everyone who steals your wallet what you drive)
2 other cards ( again keyrings, but these tell the finder of the keys who they should return them too)
info on keeping it nice and smooth
info about the defensive driving course

all in all, nothing special in the welcome pack, but I can't complain, we've received a lot of other stuff.

 

Hey Thommo ... what else did you get??? Who was the dealer ??

 

Mine turned up today. Contained:

• RX8 coffee table book... nice
• Blue key light (dealer gave me red one, so I now have a red one to match the car and the other half has the blue one.)
• Details on roadside assist
• Murcott driver training,
• Quick reference card
• Roadside assist key ring cards and a credit card sized card.
• Survey
• RX-8 T-Shirt - grey with a red rx8 logo and red rotary logo that goes down one side, so most is on the front and some is on the back.

Most importantly the quick reference card tells you to make sure you switch the engine all the way to off before re-starting after a stall, otherwise the car may go into limp home mode, which can only be reset by a dealer. Don't remember reading this in the manual.

When I was asked for the shirt size, I asked how big they were and was told the medium was reasonably small... well I got the large and it swims on me. I wear size 39 business shirts and the T-shirt sleeves go down to my elbows.... should have got a medium.

 

:D I know the feeling, I'm 6'3", so figured I'd get the XXL one at the drive day, I swear it's nearly to my knees...
