NO eric. I think the commondore side thing is very nice. May I suggest silver mesh on the fender vent though.

is there a pic of the rear. I love to see how you paint the where the rear accent is.

They're not SS strakes.

They're straight off Aston Martin's DB9.

Ezz, Don't mention it

They deserve to know the truth.
One less unhappy DB9 owner out there,
gazillion more happy RX8 admirers though!

Thanks
they are one of the starcorp range wheels from www.tempetyres.com.au, they are 20 x 8.5 with falken st-115 245/35 tyres all round.
here is a pix of the combo from a distance when the 8 was black

the best looking after-market rims I've seen on an 8 (imho)

the paint is really striking especially in the sun, is it HOC or ALSA or something simular?
none of the above, this is a special mix paint using a australian developed/made paint. most ppl know that i support australian made products (as much as i can anyway).

I agree with mikeyr, the vents give the car a different personality and I like it how it does look different to other 8's.

They'll always be negative comments, and envious ones :p Looks hot and sexc!

Ta, Kall.
thanks kall..... good to hear from a female's point of view

i'd go with black mesh if i had to, i think silver will make the side too busy (together with the chrome shadow wheels)
there is only one rear end shot i took so far, that was at the car show a couple of weeks ago.... excuse my factory exhaust system

All I can do is add to the general chorus of appreciation.

Fantastic to see a genuinely individual yet still classy looking car.

More power to you (literally :D ).

I was asking about the paint for the emblems. Was there a special type of paint to make it stay or any type of paint will work for the emblems. I know that the emblems need to be sanded before you paint them. The reason I ask about the paint I might want to do other colors, and just wanted to get your experience on painting them.

oops.... :D
1. sand the badges with fine grit sand paper/scortch bright
2. clean it with prepsol (aka. grease/wax remover)
3. plastic primer (about 3 layers)
4. spray whatever colour you like, one layer at a time until it has enough coverage
5. clear coat (a couple of layers)
6. put it back on

hope it helps
