Warnie on Top Gear
Not sure if he'd be good or not. Guess we'll see.

I just hope that Channel 9 stick with the same format and don't try to commercialise it too much (I'd say as a franchise they would have to follow BBC's formula). I'd hate to see Top Gear turned into a glorified Carsales/Shannons infomercial as they always seem to do with their motoring shows.
All that said,

The BBC has denied reports Jeremy Clarkson and cricketer Shane Warne will join forces to host a new series of Top Gear Australia.
News Limited and Fairfax reported that Channel Nine had snared the rights to the popular motoring show from SBS.
The News Limited report added that Clarkson and Warne - a fast car enthusiast - would front the local version of the show.
"Utter nonsense," said a spokeswoman for BBC Worldwide, which owns the rights to the franchise.
She did, however, confirm the BBC was in talks about the future of Top Gear Australia.
"Beyond that there is really nothing to add," she said.
The British edition of Top Gear - hosted by Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - is estimated to have a worldwide audience of 285 million.
SBS has broadcast the hugely successful show since 2005 and has produced two seasons of a local version.

I fear your prediction may be only too correct DrGonzo. Channel 9 will want to make it pay and the infomercial route with a cheap and cheesy host is the fast buck method of choice.
Channel 9 is being run into the ground, so I doubt they'll see the value in spending the money to create a genuine car show of decent quality.

Yep...it is confirmed TG will be on 9 next year...and they have just ruined the show...with commercials...unless it goes to 90 minutes long (for commercials) content will have to be edited out, just like SBS does...Oh well the smart ones download the show anyway P2P..
BTW: Doesn't season 14 start about now in the UK??

Well that did not take long to download 28 mins for an Hour Show...
Looks good (and BBC HD), first tour for the boys is to Romania in an Aston, Ferrari and a Lambo.....
Update....Eric Bana as the Star Guest..
The Show...well no car shown or driven under 100,000 pounds, typical TG...shame really, the show IMO is still Good
but has lost a lot of what made it great...that was every day cars, go back to 2003,4,5,6 to see what I mean...
Hope it improves, and No series 14 Pre-View Highlights at the start as they usually do...
