Vibration when braking hard?

Vibration when braking hard?

Hi All,

Just asking if anyone experienced any vibration of the car under hard braking in a straight line? The rear end feels like it vibrates a lot, almost wobbling. What could cause this? Could my brakes be faulty or warpped? I've only driven my car to and from work and done a few cruises, didn't think I was giving my brakes such a hard time.

Can't say I've had this problem.

Was braking so hard that ABS kicked in? Does the car steer in a certain direction when you brake hard?

Gomez, will check the wheel nuts, but I haven't touched them since I've got the car.

Sco, doen't feel like ABS, it is more a vibration side ways. It was just a long straight road. And there was a bit of vibration right from the steering as well, as in pulling left and right.

Hmm... not good... might be time to visit the dealer.

Could be anything from suspension problems to loose wheel nuts. Only other thing that springs to mind is tramlining due to a really bad road.

Will have to test it again next weekend on a different road. If it is still the case it is going back to the dealer.

Tramlining is probably unlikely. Don't risk your own safety. If it's bad, take it in ASAP.

Maybe a balancing or wheels allignment should fix it

Unless your disc brake is stuffed and need to be resurface.

It happen on my Nissan Patrol, and they have to resurface the disc brake.

This usually happen from Braking Too hard when the Disc brake is Hot. When the Disc Brake is Hot the Metal tend to Weaken therefore easy to bent or change shape.

Maybe someone might correct me if i'm wrong.
