Triple road rage

I wish I had a camera. We were reversing our RX8 out of the shopping centre carpark when I saw an older couple from behind ready to take my spot...not known to old mate, a brown station wagon was also indicating from my right rear also primed to take my position. I said to my missus "this is going to be interesting."

Sure enough as I reversed out, the brown wagon speared in front of old mate and took it. Old mate then nearly rams the wagon...they were both very pissed off. Both got out of the car and it was on, the gloves were off. I stopped, got out of my car to break it up and a lady I was holding up then started cursing at me...WTF!

I decided it wasn't worth the risk to put us at risk for the stupidity of others, so I pulled out. Old mate then decided enough was enough and he drove off at speed. Moral of the story......don't start a fight with someone in a car...there are more people killed by them than someone with a gun...!

OK this isnt personal, but what has the world come to when a police officer fears the outcome of something like this.

I understand its not personal Andrew because your're spot on. Its all too easy for people to turn it around and **** on off-duty coppers. I've seen it all too often now when the 'silver knight' ends up getting a cross complaint and then gets shafted with an internal investigation.

Unless someone's getting the **** kicked out of them, I'll ring for the boys and be a witness, but I won't directly intervene...

Ugly.

I always look for a spot close to the exit in car parks.

Yeah thisllub. I agree. I never understood why my dad parks so far away from everyone else. I didnt understand until, that is, I got rear ended by a frustrated driver who "didnt want to miss out on the sales". Revolver. I think you did the best thing in your situation. I have heard too many stories about people who try to be 'heros'

I hope others learn from your good example.
Is your 8 ok btw? you never said if anyone hit it?

Did you know in most large cities in the US off duty cops are required to carry a back up gun or off duty service weapon and badge with them, and required to intervene in any crime they see, they instantly become on duty.

But over here there are so many rules about who can do what, I guess your worse off than a normal citizen because you have no authority plus you stand to get a complaint if you do something.

Rather strange.

Revolver operates from the opposite side of the spectrum to me. On your point I stopped far enough away to avoid the action...having said that if someone HAD hit me then it could have been a different story...!

Monte its called accountability gone mad. I've got the authority 24/7 but that means didly squat these days. You've just got to see the attitude of some people these days to see the result...

The argument that Dave has a nicer car is subjective and open for debate....I'm sure Dave will confirm (awaiting response with anticipated breath!)

You can also guarantee that a hostile edit of a mobile phone video of the fracas will end up on YouTube.

...I'm rendered speechless by the infinite possibilities for banter here.

Let's just say I bloody well hope your g/f is better looking than me and to be honest the old Revolvermobile is looking a little beat up these days...she needs a visit to the panel shop to spruce her up...and new street rims!

As for Enforcer's recent 'situation', I would have popped a cap in old mate's ***!
