touch up paint
Does anyone know how much the touch up paint costs from mazda? I got a 1.5cm deep scratch (I can see the bare metal underneath), looks like a person's doing. I've covered it temporarily with chip stick - which never works well anyway, so need to do a proper touch up.

Sorry to hear about the scratch. I've been noticing some minor panel damage lately (just unavoidable wear and tear stuff like little dents and chips from flying stones) and it sure can spoil your fun.
As for touch-up paint, I was given a tube gratis when I collected the car. This must be an ad hoc touch if others have had to buy it.

hmmm... okay... might ask the dealer see if I can get away with a free tube. I read a few posts and they mentioned it free as well, but I thought it's just in US.

Yea maybe.. as the Velocity Red has the pearl in it, and yeh looked different when i put some on my car. Eric goes to me "did u put enough on?!" i put like 2-3 coats to get it looking half decent. but its all good, now my front has been resprayed anyway lol grrr
with regards to ur scratch... if its not deep deep, it may have just removed some clear coat, try just some cut and polish. When someone slamed their door open onto my passenger side last yr, i went crying to my panel beater (again) and he just cut and polished it then and there.. and all gone

Thanks... *waiting for kall to finish her research*
for small scratches I think there are some products, but this scratch I'm sure would need touch up paint. I'll see what you can find anyway :D

mmmk I asked my boyz and they all say touchup paint if u can c the metal.. if u couldnt there was other suggestions like i said the polish.. they mentioning other things too... oh my their windows are flashin heaps lol geez whole screens filled up with suggestions if u couldnt c the metal lol hey at least now we know wat to do when that happens.. lol
so yeh sorry.. touch up paint but try not to make it too thick and blotchy. Perhaps start off puttin some on a lil sponge and apply it slowly like pat it on. The brush mite be a bit blotchy... basically have to make it even
then give it maybe few days or week to cure, then wax

thanks Kall. I find that clay bar is really helpful when touching up paints, it removes the extra paint so I can make it flush. Done that to my previous car, it got keyed from front to back, now you can hardly see it unless you really take a look :D

Really sorry to hear about this. Geez there're some a..holes on this planet!! People getting jollies out of gouging cars should've been drowned at birth.......
I've got the Mazda black touch-up paint and it's a good match (the blue for the wife's SP on the other hand isn't). Get something on there ASAP or you'll have rust kicking in.
Cheers,
Rod.
