I think a good meetup place (now this is just a suggestion, so speak up bout pros/cons etc.) is behind market city/uts..

basically behind darling harbour convention centre there is a strip of road which leads to a big bus and coaches parking section, way bigger than standard off street parking facilities, coaches and all park there, but mondays are quiet there, and its still close to the city ie centralised to all/most drivers....?

The address is 50 metres down from the corner of "ultimo road" and "darling drive"

I'm finishing up at uni at 5 so i think i can hang about till 8. Plus daz said behind uts..? how convenient for me!

 

Choppy i know hehe. But hey if i can make an apperance it will be like winning lotto, monday 8pm thow is no good. The days are much better for me, anywayz if you guys change your mind post it so i know.

i've just said 8pm monday behind uts, as a starting point.

Not every 1 will make it and 2 things. 1) I am no king, what i say doesnt go, I'm just helping to get the ball rolling, so for those who cant make it...in no way do i think "bad luck" its a pity ....cos the more 8 owners we have the better which leads me to my 2nd point and that is ...... this is 1 of many many more meets, lets use it as a trial run, for the old and new members/visitors/owners etc, and then get a date/time when everyone can meet defntly.

8PM Meetup, I dont know how far people want to go, ie over the bridge towards epping, how bout maybe through surry hills and onto south darling and then to brighton le sands....??

I was at Burwood yesterday afternoon, geeeeez the eye candy there checking out my eye candy, was a match made in heaven!! ad pity burwood would be dead on a school night.

 

that's why I think we should organise a meet for a day/evening run =D
it's hard to marvel the beautiful curves @ night :D

I'll be there. Rang the guy from Mazda to confirm. Apparently, they are going to write to everyone that applied a week before the day, and only take credit card payment at that time. I don't think we're going to get a lot of track time, but the cornering with and without computer assistance should be interesting. Oh, and of course the 'mildly competitive' afternoon.

Sounds like fun.

 

So did they only notify you recently?
I have sent in my acceptance and payment about a month ago. I had notification and the phone calls about 2 months ago.
I hope we get a fair bit of track time cause that is the main reason why I am attending.

That's the thing, they didn't contact me, I had to chase them. Mazda thought (and still thinks) that phoning people a week before is ample notice to let them know whether they got a spot or not. A little silly if you ask me. Still, should be a good day.

spoke to "kane8" yesterday, I think he'll make it in his winning blue. So I think we have every colour except for silver, tit. grey and yellow.??

 

choppy's 8 is silver. Mr Medic8 had the grey I believe..
dunno about yellow... hard to find colour I guess although I did see some go past me few times..

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, have recently swapped my ride from a DC2 Type R for a winning blue 8, absolutely Love the car, I'm sure its only a matter of time until Mazda Motorsport brings out their own SP version!
Have had 2 Track days... Wakefield & Eastern Creek and just clicked over 13K. I think I need new pads, any suggestions over stock pad options. Look forward to meeting the RX-8 fraternity tommorrow Night.
