Sydney Cruise
Sydney Cruise - 13 August
Okay, <emits world weary sigh> are any Sydneysiders keen on attending a cruise in the next few weeks?
I'm open to suggestions for dates, destinations, etc.
There seem to be a few new Sydney members, so here's your chance to put your hand up and meet some of the crew that hang out here.
kunz, Mikey, Muzz, azza, playa, etc - please indicate your preferences.
Would it help if I organised some hookers?
How about a seminar on the property market?

Edit - Plan of attack
Date: Sunday 13 August.
Departure location no. 1: In front of new garden centre just before on ramp at entrance to M2 (9.45 for 10.00 departure).
Departure location no. 2: Carpark opposite Richmond Airbase (10.30 for 11.00 departure)
Route: Bells Line of Road out to Lithgow and return via Katoomba.
Plan: Cruise in company, lunch at Katoomba in a cafe owned by a mate of MikeyR's, return in company, go separate ways from Penrith onwards. Bring the family - I've cancelled the hookers.
Edit - Confirmed players so far are:
Revolver
Muzz
clow - M
playa78
MikeyR - M
kunz - M
Otto - M
RXP33D - M
Blu - M
Tommo (photog) - M late scratching.
Please PM your mobiles to me. Those who have already done so are marked with an 'M' in the list above.

, worked last year.
We Sydneysiders are a fickle bunch though. Unless we think there's something extra in it for us we don't bother.

Wrong but welcome.
With the exception of some hardy regulars, organising cruises in the city with the most RX8's =
But I continue undaunted (until I find out where Waldo is hiding
).

I figure we put the 'C' in cruise for this one and maybe pack the mini-terrorists and some lunch.
We can put the 'B' in blat some other time.
i wouldn't mind a night cruise except for the damn cold weather :P
i would love to suggest a road but don't know much good ones..
I think the roads from Hornsby towards the Newcastle was really good.
i sometimes go there on my own to drive some twisties. (except I don't go that far) just do back and forths of the best bits :P on the way back, I come out through the National park near St. Ives.. i forgot what its called... but I'm always in for any good cruises that you guys can lead me to

Okay, here's the rough plan, which is open for amendment:
Date: Sunday 13 August.
Departure time: 11.00am (to allow the all night party animals to wake up).
Route: Bells Line of Road (precise departure and destination locations tba).
Plan: Cruise in company, lunch at destination (probably in a cafe or something to get out of the cold), return in company.
If 13th is a huge problem for too many of you, I'm okay to move it to the 27th.
If majority want to BYOF/D we can do that too but given the time of year I figure we find a cafe instead.
Comments? EOI?

Good on you Muzz.
BTW guys, if anyone has any suggestions about destination or stop offs along the way, please feel free to volunteer them. This is a benelovent dictatorship (as in, if I think it's a good idea, we'll do it
).
).
hey dave,
I will be there too
haven't had a good drive for a while.
btw, I put my short shifter back on last night. (since that broken bit incident, I had been on the stock shifter) it feels great to drive again in the short shifter. I forgot how short the shifting was with it.

Know what you mean about the short shifter. I just couldn't go back to stock now.

5 cars (and counting). Let's keep them coming people.
Some inside info PMed by a member of rx8club.com.au:
"Bells is my old stomping ground. Great road but watch speed cameras through Kurrogong. Coming back home the scenic hill out of Lithgow is a blast, again watch speed cameras . Lithgow is a great place to eat. Suggest Workmans Club. It has an Irish Pub inside."
Mikey, sounds like your mate's cafe might have some competition. Thoughts, suggestions anyone?
BTW, speaking of speed cameras, have been caught twice in the past two months by hidden cameras.
Now, before those who have cruised with me say they're not surprised (
), these were both under 15km/h over the limit, so I was clearly not trying at the time.
First occurred on the M7, which I was trying for the first time and was just cruising along with the traffic flow when a hidden ***** parked behind the end of the dividing wall nabbed me.
Second arrived today - Princes Hwy, Wollongong. I didn't even see any copper there and I'm always careful in Wollongong so that's got me buggered. Perhaps just some momentary inattention.
Anyways, that's half my frigging points gone for the next three years, which is the real problem. Miserable ******. I hope their jodhpurs give them piles.
