Angry STOLEN RX8 on goldcoast

Iwas informed by goldcoast mazda that a lightining yellow rx8 has been stolen from a home in Hope island, apparently the home was broken into and car was stolen , the thieves must have found the keys to the rx8 .

So secure your cars , as this car may have been deliberately .targeted
He also told me that their allocation of cars has changed from 4 cars per month to just 1 car per month.
How can we secure ourrides more effectively???

Seriously... is there any evidence to suggest that the car was targetted? The key here (no pun intended) is to make sure that you don't make life easier for the thieves, like leaving your keys around - as they're the easiest way to bypass the immobiliser (by design).

A good reason why I didn't get my coloured key coded.

No point having too many keys lying around the house. I've got one that works and my wife has one that works.

The yellow rx8 stolen fom hope island has been recovered the thieves only took the car for a joy ride , i believe when they realised it was automatic they were dissapointed and dumped the car , the poor owner is taking it back to the dealer to have it checked out .
In order not to embarras the owner i will not post the cars rego. anyhow at least the car was retrieved.

Hmmm... So in this situation, a pistol in the owners back pocket would have been useless because he wasn't home at the time. And if the owner would have put one in the car, then he would have also lost the pistol, and now a couple of petty thieves are armed, and I doubt that it would have been abandoned with the car (unless they didn't realize it was there).

Ooops -- Aussies, you need to be aware of the irony deficiency in other parts of the world!

Is it just me, or does it seem like mikeb is trying to get the top post count by responding to threads with single word responses?
