You've hit the nail on the head with that one Sherlock!
For a sneak peak have a look at Ezzy's site, it'll be very close to that.

Sorry Ezz for spilling the beans, the excitement is too much for me to contain.

haha im pretty sure its photo-chopped but there was a period of time in bankstown where wheels were a popular item among theives, it wasnt uncommon for them to jack up the car and just steal the wheels haha
i guess now they're more advanced and clean out the rest of the car

Wheels are still popular, but not as popular as Recaros from a Type R or a T28 turbo from a 200SX. :p

Does anybody know roughly how much a good quality full respray would cost?

Presumably if you want special effects or metal flake paints, or whatever, you can spend as much as you want.

I've no plans to change my colour any time soon - I love my cheery Lightning Yellow.

But I'm planning to keep the car for many years, so the idea of occasionally 'renewing' its looks sounds appealing. Either with a similar colour, or maybe even something completely different. At least it sounds good until I find out just how much that might cost, I expect.

Anybody know a rough figure for a full respray with regular style paint, please??

EZZY,

What do you have to do, in RTA or legal wise, to get your car painted?

why would you do a colour that's available from the factory... even tho we dont get it here.... yet?

e

EDIT:
taka, here in NSW, all you have to do is go to RTA and tell them what your new colour is.
when i got my other mazda resprayed the first time, a cop pulled me over and told me that how come the RTA database says my car is still white..... i said i just got it painted so he changed the colour code for me from the cop car :D

The 2 tone colour what i meant is the one when you flash different light angle will change colour. Such as Green, Purple, Gold, etc

You mean "chameleon" or colour flip paint, not two tone.
BTW, that's not considered "rice" in Sydney, more "Habib-style". :p :D

those "chameleon/ flip" paint are getting more affordable now.

when PPG first started back in 1999, it retailed for $1,000 a litre, had an opportunity to do in that kind of colour for the sponsorship, but decided to go with gold/orange with marble effect,.

now you can get these type of paint for cheap, from different companies of course.
"chameleon/ flip" paint is for ppl who cant make up their mind :D

How's the project going Ezzy? Any more pics please??

Will we get to see any of the car all masked up, or any of the in between stages, or will you just be posting a TADAAAA! pic when it's done?

It would be great to follow the progress of the job, if you could be bothered taking some more pictures.

C'mon mate, you've got to rub yourself up on the bare metal to feel out for any surface imperfections, or so they say. :p
