silver RX8 at Mulgrave/Brighton Mazda
Grrrrrr......
Was all set to get the Silver non-leather RX8 at Mulgrave Mazda (the one off the floor) but 1/2hour before I went in to sign the contract they agreed to swap it with Brighton Mazda for a silver leather pack.... So i bought the leather instead...
The guy was coming from Brighton that day to swap them and we were told from Mulgrave a week max for dealer delivery....
Now they are telling me that the silver leather one hadnt come into the country as yet and is still going to be 2 weeks away??
He told me it was at Brighton the other day..... I'm not happy as sold the S7 RX7 and the guy comes to collect it this weekend!!!
Has anyone seen a silver RX8 in at Brighton Mazda in the last 2 weeks?? One minute its there, and the next it hasnt even arrived in Aus yet!!! I reckon they sold it on me....

Saw the non-leather one at mulgrave on show room floor last week, I bought my silver 8 from there.
It wasn't there yesterday (as you've said) can't help other than that unfortunately....
Just got my strakes fitted and man they look great on the silver:D

Andy,
What a bastard.
At least I know I can trust my dealer in that regard. Mine left Japan on the 22nd, around the time I signed the contract. It should be at the dealer tomorrow.
I even have the VIN and engine number. Can't remember the engine number, but it starts with 13B
Velocity Red, Poverty Pack :p
I've bought all my Mazda's from Grand Prix, Aspley.
Cheers,
Hymee.

i agree!!
mazda must make a killing on the margins for add-ons!!
my wife wanted the rotor add-ons for lower front and rear bits. we're getting those. nothing else.
what i really wanted was the rear fog lights. can't get that. it was a cool rotor shaped light!

G'day Hymee
Don't say "poverty pack", we have a red one with cloth seats, and think it looks great. We're very happy with the normal Sony sound system too, however, as we don't play rap, heavy metal or dance music (just classics and jazz), we're rather non-discerning in the department of doof-doof bass.
We're leaving ours stock standard, not only from the initial cost point of view, but also from reading an article which suggests that the value of add-ons decreases markedly as the car ages. I also think that the RX-8 designers did a great job in the basic design, and I'm fundamentally against tarting it up. We certainly don't want it looking like a junior Valley drug dealer's ride! We've just put in flloor mats. Unfortunately, due to the shape of the foot wells, you have to buy the dedicated RX-8 ones. The G-P Mazda price is much lower than the list price off the web.
I hope you take delivery very soon!

Hehehe.
I just wrote poverty pack as a tongue-in-check remark. I didn't want to write "cloth" or "not leather". Guess that is just Hymee humor for you. Y'all will get used to it I'm sure.
I'm not to worried about the leather, or the Bose, but I wouldn't mind the Xenon lights and the Fog lights. I think the plastic covers on the headlight washes look a bit tacked on - the std bumper looks smoother without them.
Cheers,
Hymee.
