Seat Removal

Has anyone had the cause to remove either the passenger or drivers seat from the 8, I am having the passenger seat upholstery replaced next week and want to ensure that the remove the seat properly.
The work is being done by an upholsterer at his place.
This is all the result of the windscreen replacement due to stone chip crack and subsequent spillage of super glue by the service guy on the passenger seat.
Anyway any advice help would be appreciated.

Here is a poor PDF of the instructions from the Leather Hand Brake Install instructions that shows the passenger seat being removed. I would make a better copy, but I cannot find them in the house!

Thanks Nemesis

The pdf is clear enough, one tends to forget small details like side air bags etc.
Will take the instructions along with me.

The seats are very easy to remove; they are attached to the floor with four bolts under plastic covers. There are also TWO electrical connectors (at least on GT equipped 8’s) for the air bags and seat power. The only thing to keep in mind is to recline the seat enough so you can easily remove it without scratching the plastic door still covers.

Sorry to revive an old thread, and also for a nooby question! But I couldn't find the solution anywhere online.

How do I remove one of the bolts that are located under the plastic covers? What kind of tool can I use? I tried using a wrench but the bolt won't budge at all.

Also, I'm not looking to remove the whole seat, just one of the bolts.. Thanks guys!

You need more leverage - a cheater bar or a long torque wrench. I managed toge two of my bolts out with a regular socket wrench, but the other two I had to use the torque wrench, just because it was about 10" longer

Mazda tightens those bolts pretty well - they don't want the seat coming loose.
