/drags thread back on track...
I've just got an invite to a combined MX-5/6 MPS launch party at Eagers Mazda next Wednesday 12th October.
Trying to persaude wife to go to this instead of cricket practice (she plays...I'm more cricket ball shaped). However, previous history also counts as she got rather "unsteady" on the free drinks at the last one we attended (Mazda 3 launch).
I'm going to take 6 MPS for a test drive. The sedan shape is my least favourite. If they did this in a Hatch or wagon we might seriously consider it.
/feel free to go back off topic

Hmm, changing marques all because of some little ignoranus sales manager....be careful you are not jumping from the frying pan to the fire. Porsche dealers have a reputation (my wife has owned 3...and is now a Honda girl) and there is significantly less choice. Same with BMW. Plus, as I think I have said, the local Porsche dealer here also has the Citroen franchise, and I have a mate who has one of both. Workshop rates: $95/hr for Citroen; $250/hr for Porsche...and yes...they are the same mechanics and facilities. Maybe they wash the spanners in champagne first :D
But any brand, you'll always find a bad dealer experience. Mine is good and I have a 6 MPS test drive booked next week

Yeah, mine's a good little earner too. :D
And thank you Adrian for getting that quotation right.
Too many people think 'sarcasm is the lowest form of wit', which is inaccurate.

Anyway....saw the new MX-5 and 6 MPS today when collecting mine from recall.
First reactions: MX-5 looks...tubby Something that was one lithe and svelte now looks a bit like it's had too much of the good life. It has some good gear, though.
The 6 MPS: first reaction -- stealth. You could drive around all day -- especially in a sunlight silver or titianium, and no-one would give you a second glance. There's part of me that likes that Test drive next week will be interesting
Oh, xxup -- that 'big air cleaner' is the intercooler. Cunning internal venting within the bonnet to avoid a FMIC. Makes the bonnet bloody heavy, though

Well I love the look of the new MX5. The MPS6 looks great except for the exhaust - Mazda should have sent an email to hymee first :D I'm also really excited the RX8 is finally coming here in white but disappointed that i can't change my car for at least 24 months
