Saturday Afternoon Srints - Queensland Raceway

The regular sprints are on today starting from noon. I will be going out to watch some mates who I have driven with out there on a number of occasions in the past with our LS1 powered Commodores.

I wont be racing, but I will be taking the '8 . It is a great opportunity to drive within your limits in a safe environment, without having to worry about breaking the law.

And it very cheap too. $40 for the first session (7 laps/15 minutes) $25 for the next session. Then the 3rd session is free!

Have a look here for those interested:

May see some of you there!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Pete,

Was it a dark green one, and you had 2 consecutive moments coming out of turn 1?

Entertaining stuff!

Yeah - tons of people had a look at the car. It was like the word spread along pit lane and everyone came to have a squiz.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hehe yep that's the one! I really struggle to heel-toe with the stock steering wheel, so more than twice I lost it at 140-150 just as I'm supposed to be turning in.

Oh well that's the best thing about a racetrack, as long as you stay out of the dirt it's all fun

Did you run the VX?

VX - Yep. I have been out there for the 2 previous sprint days. I managed consistent 1:03's with a best of a 1:02. On Slicks. The slicks were buggered though and have been "returned" to Yokohama - they had de-lamination problems. 1:07 on street tyres. It was a Gold VX SS in case you had seen me in the past.

Did you see the '8' racing number one of my mates put on the front screen? :D

Cheers,
Hymee.

Cool, I was running 1:04's (with a couple a 1:20's tossed in ) on yoko A082's / Toyo T1-S's, COMPLETELY stock, so I would guess the '8 would run pretty similar times.

You LS1 guys are pretty competetive!, everyone seems to have slicks!

BTW Have you seen the pics of your car on hoon's website? I would link them, but you may not like having pics of your car with with the rego posted up.
