Safety Recall?

Hi guys,

Happy new year for all of yas...

Been away for a long time, and i realised that a new 2006 Special Edition rx-8 is coming out, and few NSW cruises were run, etc... Sounds terrific and i hope all your rx-8's are all doing well... just like mine...

just to check up, i've got these two mails on my desks, for a safety recall on the exhaust, and i was wondering if anyone actually went to their dealers and got anything out of this?

is it critical? etc?

Thanks guys,

- Frank

Yes it is....that's why they wrote to you.

Most of us on the forum have had the work done.

There has been a substantial thread in this sub-forum and many more elsewhere on what these cover.

i hope it doesn't all of a sudden blow up my exhaust or anything next week when i finally drive it out of the garage - it's been sitting there for quite a while... hm...
well, first things first.
i will have to take it to the dealer.

good to be back!

thanks again.

hope you have disconnected the battery before you went away.....
if you did, look through the owner manual, it tells you what to do with the ABS/DSC thingo (cant remember what it called exactly...)
it wont blow up your car or the exhaust from "normal" use.
give your dealer a call to book in for a recall and ask for a free loan car.

hehe... certainly..

Question is i'm not too sure what effects this has for the next say week or so, without having to get it changed.

hope it's not a bad one.

don't worry about it. we've all been driving no problem with that defect for 2 yrs b4 it was announced..
it's more a safety measure.
