Great looking car --- pity about the motor. That's what I reckon it says. But the guy has formed an opinion of the motor based on the experience of 20+ years ago. It's called inherent prejudice.

The facts don't support his negative view: oil consumption has not been raised as a serious problem, although there have been a few (a very few) motors that obviously had problems early on, including one here in Aust.

Fuel economy? IMHO, the 8 is as fuel efficient as any other 170Kw sports car when driven as intended. I'm never quite sure what people expect here -- the fuel economy of a 1.3L motor?
