Just got back from indy on the Gold Coast and was wondering if anyone knows
anything about the two left hand drive rx8s that were running around the track between races?

One car sounded quite loud possibly with some exhaust or air box work done the other sounded standard.

Both were left hand drive and were doing nothing other than running around the track between races.

I am intrigued as to what they were doing there and why left hand drive!

Possibly just part of the entourage that gets shipped around with all the cars??

Ok i seen one, the other was a mazda 6 mps..

I believe the reason for why they appeared to be driving pointlessly around the track was because they stopped at certain flag points to pick up people an take them to other points of the track. I never noticed they were left hand drive...

Hmmmmm you got a good eye, im agreeing with above, i think there on tour with the indy.

I think there was only one but after seeing quite a few unmentionables and a couple of drinks i think my vision was somewhat blurred!!

Mazda are the official pace cars in Champ Car - They use rx8s and mazda 6. They also use cx7 or cx9 as safety vehicles at most if not all tracks
