RX8 Floor mats

I've been trying to find new mats for the car, and I recall Mazda telling me some time ago they were over $200....

I'm always cautious with ebay, and I came across these. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mazda-RX8-Flo...QQcmdZViewItem

They look good.

I have this in mine. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mazda-RX-8-FL...ayphotohosting

The dealer put them in brand new before I bought the car.
Only problem is they must be American or something, the little hole to anchor the drives mat down is on the left on the mat and on the car the post for the mat is on the right.

They are original. I got a set for me from my dealer back in 2003.

They wear out a bit after 4 years .... I wonder I should buy another set.

mdr has the set that comes in the later models. The middle bits are better and they are the ones that Japan has when the car was launched.

I wish they put a scuff pad on them, they'd last a lot longer if they did that!

For a guide Trev, they are free for my preorder car . $150 RRP. I will not give anything over $50 for eBay.

Thanks Taka - greatly appreciated. Mine are getting up to 4 years old, and if worse comes to worse I'll just somehow refresh the ones I've already got. They are just fading a bit.

These are the el-cheapo Aussie made mats for our Aussie issue Rx-8's. Note the seller is "EUROCARS MAZDA" in Artarmon so you can be assured they are genuine Mazda-Australia items.

$50 is a reasonable price too. About what they are actually worth.

Hey Trevor, how about these JDM items for a cool $200....I'm pretty sure that they have a JDM RRP around Y30,000.

Thought I would mention I just purchased a set of the $200 JDM mats from Phills Rotary's via E-bay there. Postage from BRIS to SYD was $15 on top.

This is a great price as landing a set from Japan would have been near the $380 mark. For those that have seen the JDM floor mats, they make the Aussie spec ones we got as standard equipment look very cheap & nasty.

Word has it that Phill's has done a major purchase of factory accessories at "clearance rates" meaning he is offering them far cheaper than Mazda would try & rip us off with plus still making a dollar for himself.

No arguements from me....................

Although I have only cut & pasted them from the E-bay link which anyone could click on from the ORX-800 post. How long this URL stays valid for at E-bay is unknown.

If you guys think the original $380 is pricey or the "now" $215 is still pricey, spare a thought for the Eunos Cosmo buyer. They have 3-types of floor mats to choose from. The most expensive (ultra high quality & detail) embroided mats came to a whopping $1000 per set............

Yes Phil got the RX-8 accessories at 20% of their RRP. It's funny how Mazda Australia have chosen to heavily discount these items so that other businesses can profit from it. Very easy money even if he sells it at 50% of RRP. NB: I'm not having a go at Phil as I would do the same thing if I was in his line of business! Just very surprised by Mazda Australia's actions.

Cheers,
Danny

I don't know if anyone else bought these mats off ebay, but for two days now eurcarsmazda from Artarmon have told me they are not sending them to me because of an 'accounting glitch'.

Apparently their bank statement only shows deposit details (no reference numbers) and one reversal. Therefore they can't prove I made deposit. Inquiries continuing....!

Geez Trev that's a bit hopeless of them!

If they haven't oversold their stock and as you've provided them with a copy of your transaction, I don't see what the problem is. The mats probably owe them less than $25.

Maybe they need a new bank service provider!!!

All the best!

Cheers,
Danny
