I clipped a BMW 3 series last week in my RX-8

Changing lanes near a set of lights (damn that rear visibility).

I pulled over to go through the formalities and checked out his car. The front quarter guard was totally smashed in and crumpled around his wheel.

Expecting the worst, I wander round to the front of my car and see... nothing.
There is a small scuff mark on the rim and a dull mark on the corner of the bumper where it glanced off the BMW.

I'm sure this had more to do with the impact angle than the strength of the Rx-8 (plastic) bumper, and my wheel took most of the impact so there will be obligatory alignment checks etc, but anyway.... it was kind of a relief.

That's my story, now where's that supercharger Hymee
