Hi,

I tried setting anti-theft code for the RX-8 radio as per the instructions in the manual (ignition to ACC, radio off, press Auto-M and 6 until CODE is displayed). I tried this but nothing happened. Before I hassle the dealer, has anyone with a RX-8 succesfully entered a personal code for their radio?

I tried to enter my code just as the instruction book said (same as you) and also had no success. Please go ahead and hassle the dealer - I'd like to know too.

 

I was at the drive day in Sydney 2 weeks ago and we asked the Mazda tech rep this exact question. He stated that the radio security code is DEFINATELY not fitted in Australian RX-8's, contrary to what the manual says. I guess they couldn't be bothered taking out the reference to it in the operating manual.

 

hi, just worked out how to reset radio code after disconnecting battery leads........as soon as you turn ignition key to acc.....thats 2 clicks....press auto m and button 6, do this as quick as u can, four dashes will appear, enter your code, and then press auto m and button 6 again, and hold. code should be reset. good luck!!
