RX-3 Comeback!
Little brother for the RX-8 - in the latest Motor mag (page 17) is news of a new RX-3 model being shown at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Based on the MX-5 with the 13B Renesis motor for a real lightweight rotary 2-door coupe, and it is to go into production.
Now that will be one awesome little monster!

i think your sources are unreliable
mazda will just not make something that will make competition for thier own model line ups. i'll just kill off the rx8 and mx5
and what they are actually showing in the tokyo motor show is the senku concept, premacy hybrid and the hydrogen rx8 RE
the only thing i heard would be the return of the rx7 with a 15b engine in 2007
and i even doubt that will be true.

Heard about this RX-3 from Mazda USA guys at their head office in L.A when I was there in SEP-04.
Its to be an "entry level" rotary powered sporty car.
RX-8 = $37k........ Japan
RX-3 = $27k........ Japan
If Mazda Australia ripp us off with a 60% mark up on the RX-8 expect no mercy for the RX-3 then.......
Dont know too much more than that though.

At this car survey thing I went to... I saw what I believed to be a mazda concept car...
it sorta looks like that mazda rx3... but the specs they told us were that it was gonna be an Inline 4... 160hp or 147hp... depending on what they find out from market research I guess.. but it was gonna cost about 20k.. according to the survey... the interior is really neat... passenger side rear seat elevates and tilts.. while front seat folds into a table for the back seat guy... driver side backseat is smaller than the other side.. and also doesn't have tilt or height adjustment.. its an interesting idea... looks really stylish...
but yah.. maybe it was a different car... for mazda.. or another company... 2 door coupe though... with fat fat fat rims...
