RRP - Any deals being done?
I don't think so, but I would like to know if they are. Not any different to any new model really.
I have bought 4 new Mazda from the same dealer since 1992, and 2 other for Father/Father-in-law. That adds up to around $200,000 of business + plus all the servicing.
For all my loyalty, I got the priveledge of paying full sticker price. I guess the best part about that is the longer it lasts, the better it will hold re-sale prices up.
New Mazda 6's are still demanding near sticker price as demand is still outstripping supply, with people still waiting a month or more.
The manufacturers will trickle feed the supply of them as long as they have good demand, and make hay while the sun shines.
I saw on one thread on here that 1,200 a year '8 were comming to Australia. Can anyone confirm? That doesn't sound like a lot.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Yes I agree. With any hot, in demand newly release models, any discount off the ticket price is really out of the quesiton. But the only safer bet for the dealer to help making the sale is that, some dealer may like throw in a bit more extra of accessories than another dealer. So when you go shopping for these models, haggle for free accessories instead
If you're placing an order I think there is an opportunity to make something happen (but probably not much) as the dealer will be keen to get you to put your deposit down.
If you're picking one up off the shop floor... good luck.. maybe you can find a dealer 1 car short of a target at the end of the month... but it'll probably be an unpopular colour or sheer luck that an order was cancelled.
I did notice some predictable differences in driveaway prices between dealers when I was ringing around... which is to be expected. I'd have rung the ACCC if this was not the case.
I couldn't even get the dealer to throw in floor mats when I got mine, as it was literally coming off the delivery truck as I signed up for it (or so they told me). In the end they weren't going to negotiate and I was prepared to pay RRP... so no deals for me.
In my work I live and die by exceeding customer expectations and getting high levels of satisfaction... if it were me selling, I'd throw in some car mats or something similar to someone paying RRP, just to let them know that I appreciate their business and acknowledge the premium they're paying. My dealer didn't... I'll remember that when I fill in the Mazda survey.
