Question about the cooling fan
Last Friday I pulled into our garage, air conditioner on because it was quite warm. Switched off the ignition, and the cooling fan turned on, and kept on and on and on and on. How long is it meant to run? Surely it would only take a minute or so to cool the system down.

I've seen reports of up to 15 minutes elsewhere on this forum and 7 minutes springs to mind also.
Mine's only fired up for about 20 seconds or so, once.. and I was pleased to find out that it does actually work.

This has happened to me a few times also. The other night I switched the car off and the fan kept running. It was still going when I started the car back up again 10 minutes later. I was in Brisbane also. Is this normal? There is no mention of the fan staying on in the manual.
Queenslanders - have you been experiencing this phenomenon regularly? It hasn't been hot enough down south to experience this yet. If it is normal, then I expect that we will start to see this happening a lot more as summer approaches.

I have come across this once (in 1300kms). Fan stayed on for about 10-15mins. This was after an afternoon return journey to Bris from the Gold Coast, 31 degree day. It's nothing unusual, in fact, I'm happy to hear them work
Summer's coming here, so I expect to hear it a lot more often...

It's amazing what a search of the forum can reveal. I really need to get out more instead of only reading the Aust. forum all the time!
The fan staying on is normal, and has been covered previously by other threads such as this one (hope it works):
