QLDers if you want some track time before the Nats
I am undecided at this stage. I will definitely be attending the event on 2nd August as I have been participating in the open sprints regularly and currently in the top three spot in my category.
The last time I attended I got a time of 63,7 seconds. I am getting Tein coilovers and project Mu brakes fitted tomorrow and my target is to get 61 seconds.

That is fast. Did the redo of the track make it that much better or are you just getting that good at it?
That time was at Lakeside.
The track has been upgraded since the last nats. The changes are documented on the QR website. The main change is the resealing and widening of the straight.

Are the noise ****'s still in residence? - I still think the guys running the track that day for the Nationals were a pack of *********...not being able to push hard greatly diminished my enjoyment of that track...
Congrats on your times though. Sounds like you're having a good time with it all...

I am happy with my track times and it seems to be getting better each time. The new coil overs should make a difference the next time I go around.

I am booked in for this event . I feel I need to get some practice with my new coilover. A lot of tinkering required before I feel comfortable driving at the limits.
I will be going easy as I still have to wear in the new brakes, So far I have done 250 kilometers with them on. The installer said I have to do around 1000 before I can really punish them. I hope I don't get too carried away.

Had an interesting day at the track today. Came off the track twice, lucky that there was a grassy run off area. The first time was most likely as a result of too much speed into the corner and as the track temp went up my tire pressure went up with it. The higher pressure led to less grip. The second off was deliberate as a open wheeler car had just spun on the same corner and was sitting across the track. I noticed this just meters before him and the only way to avoid collision was to go off track. If I had hit him at 100kmph side on with the driver on my side it would have been a disaster.
Anyway I managed to better my lap time and got it down a few tenths to 63.3.
The new coil overs does offer less roll. The dampers where set at level 1 at the rear and level 3 at the front. This seems to give a very neutral handling. A bit more tweaking required.
I will have to get my clutch looked at as It seems to crunch going into 4th gear after the 2nd lap. This did not help my lap times much.
