Here's the link to the other thread, with videos.

rgonza -- great job....of course, so many questions, such as
what cooling system are you using?
what fuel pumps?

Nice I saw yours in the other thread.

VERY NICE (more than Timbo).

Seen the FD3S that have the 3 rotor tuned to the max. What power is it getting on yours?

I guess if you have 500hp+ then forget about Tein Flex and go for Tein Super Racing which is due coming out in Japan.

Hi. Ciao we did some mods to the entire drive train including switch to automatic drive shaft why? beacuse this one is made in steel no plastic like 6 MT the other mods was change the haft rear shaft for ones more thinner 30mm. this was made custom, the rear end it's keep the OEM, And the the input shaft was replaced for a custom one and the main case bearing. Later we able to supply a pics of this modification including motor mounts, turbo header, and others.

Thanks
Rgonza

...and all of that for $USD7500

Add in any reasonable labour cost for the work rgonza did himself, and I reckon it's $AUD20k+

(not having a go at you rgonza, just doing the maths for what a similar set-up might cost)

Well done rgonza!

We get 20B's here as well. Graphic Skills Racing put one in a Ford and ran a 8.80 straight off the trailer, fixed the clutch then ran a 8.04 @ 179.

Click here for a video of Scott Karandrews first pass.

There is also Archie's "old" car (Chev Baretta 20B) that ran the first 200+ MPH rotary pass in the world, plus a few other 20B powered weapons. Would be nice to see a few more on the street

Cheers,
Hymee (wondering if a LS2 would fit - LOL)

I am sure DMRH will correct me, but if I recall correctly, Mazda only made about 5,000 20B's so finding one is going to become more and more difficult

That includes models with the 13B engine. According to DMRH, 3,937 Cosmos with the 20B motor were manufactured

Hymee, I have, seen your project and I am impressed the perfect thing that is seen do you have tested this in one automatic? As many as horsepower can obtain of this system and as much as is its cost? My cousin has one automatic and this interested in the system of supercharger.

Thanks

rgonza - I posted some info in the A/T specific forum. We are looking at getting someone local with a RX-8 Auto who is willing to participate in some R&D.

Cheers,
Hymee.

DMRH see's & believes.

Its a shame another Cosmo gets raped for the engine. One the other side of the coin, the 20B engine in something like that promotes the Cosmo in an indirect way.

Like fitting a 20B into an FD RX-7, am sure this FE RX-8 has lost its fine tuned balance to become a freeway warrior. Crazy P-R's fit a 20B into anything with wheels it seems.........

I don't think it's a shame , I think it shows a brilliant mind , converting a very meticulous proactive computer system and having it work in harmony with a beast of an engine . I am sure the weight imbalance would be easily compensated with the power on tap . The main complaint with the 8 is the lack of power. And from what Rgonza says the balance has not overly been affected .
Brilliant job , done by an exceptional mind ,,,,,,and all done for $7500.00 US !!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it up son

Ciao

Dave
