OT: Melbourne is F-F-F-Freezing Cold!!!

Melbourne is freezing this morning, it was definately under 1 degree last night, and it's still only 2.2C here!

Take a hot water bottle with you to work people!

toxin440 06-13-2007 07:24 PM

yeah it was freezing here today as well in Texas -- high of 95F :( and thats just a start it'll be 110F here in a few weeks.

MissyK 06-13-2007 07:41 PM

Well.. this was my car at 9am this morning. Last night I was lazy and didnt put her in the garage..

Front of my car was all frozen when I got home around 4am.. But this morning the front was fine, I guess the sun defrosted. Mums car was completely frozen tho, we had trouble opening the car doors lol

Heres the rear of my car (the sun came up from the front)

I heard on the radio that the city was at 0degrees celcius over nite, and most suburbs were -3 degrees celcius.

Courtesy of cromax.. (this is his dirty vents not mine) - 1 degrees celcius!

Yes I can tell you that it was -2 at my place last night and it was cold enough that my wife even thought to warm her car up ! miracles will never cease!

MissyK 06-13-2007 07:48 PM

I didnt bother to take my 8 after seeing it like that this morning! Id be waitin for it to warm up/defrost for ages lol I was in a rush :P

Cromax 06-13-2007 08:34 PM

No wonder it is called Cold .... stream

MissyK 06-13-2007 08:40 PM

Yea I'm up the road from Scoresby so it would have been around the negatives...

Last night I slept with my heater set on 28degrees and I was still cold when I woke up!! My room wasnt very warm.

Cromax 06-13-2007 09:06 PM

OMG ... http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDV60...01.95874.shtml

-3.4 at 7am ... I thought the temperature sensor on the car was out by 2 degrees or so!

auzoom 06-13-2007 09:13 PM

car has an ambient temperature guage. Those temps include windchill, etc. Does the car gauge even show negative temps?

Chrissss 06-13-2007 09:21 PM

OH PUHLEASE!!

In the winter here we get down to -40°C. not including windchill effect. With windchill we can hit -60°C.

Getting temps like -1 in the winter is sun tanning weather!

Chris...

Cromax 06-13-2007 09:27 PM

Yeah, but do you see temperatures like 40+°C in summer?

Chrissss 06-13-2007 09:53 PM

Almost. We see temps around 35 - 37C fairly often in the summer.

Chris...

Cromax 06-13-2007 10:05 PM

Hmm ... you have it worse than us, but at least you get snow!!!

It's rather soon for us to get this cold, it usually happens in July.

Yeah, but in most of .au, it's that temp in the bedroom as well as outside. Insulation is a new invention :/

MissyK 06-14-2007 01:35 AM

I must say our winters are getting colder, and our summers are just getting tooooo hot!

Cromax 06-14-2007 02:49 AM

DrewMan 06-14-2007 09:42 AM

Cromax 06-14-2007 06:44 PM

OMG, it's warm today!!! 4C already!!!

Like, WTF?!

MissyK 06-14-2007 08:27 PM

Cannot see nothing around my area.. fog too thick, drivin with headlights in order to see 2feet infront of you.

Cromax 06-14-2007 08:50 PM

Turn on your fogs and you'll see 10 metres ahead!

I'm gonna have to warm up Rex soon, it's very cold!!!

StealthTL 06-14-2007 09:12 PM
