Odd coincidence
I've owned my RX8 for a year now, but I can't remember ever having seen another one on the road. Perhaps they drive past me waving and flashing their lights ...... but I've never spotted them.
Until I went to my local shopping centre this morning and just about walked into one that was looking for a place to park.
With a bit of luck, there will be a picture attached below. The 2 cars were pretty much identical, including the 'leather packs'.
The woman driving it told me that they'd been unable to get the combination they wanted here in WA, so had it brought over from Sydney. The lengths some people will go to in order to get a yellow one... :D

Geez - I hope my stalk wasn't showing....
I have to watch that show with my little boy in the mornings - it's never going to be quite the same again, now that I know that they're rotary bananas.
And now you mention it, I guess Rat In a Hat's red convertible does look a bit like a 350z roadster too...

The terrible thing about nojooc's very funny comment about Bananas in Pyjamas is that it's true - I now can't look at that picture any more without thinking of B1 and B2. I've even started to refer to my car as B1... :D
So you've all convinced me... yellow is just TOO Bananas in Pyjamas. I'm going to have it resprayed as Thomas The Tank Engine - a nice cheerful blue.
I think I can manage to paint the big number 1 myself, but I'll have to get the blue done. Nothing metal flakey or special, just a plain blue... How much do you think that might cost? Perhaps it would be cheaper to go for Big Ted, he's yellow too, but a different yellow..
Actually, that's a serious question. Anybody know how much a basic but good quality full respray costs?
I plan to keep the car for a long time and I rather like the idea of freshening it up occasionally with either a similar colour, or maybe even something different. My last car ended up pretty shabby looking in the paint department.

A decent respray will cost you anywhere from $4K upwards.
It all depends on the paint choice, how many coats of paint, whether you choose to spray from bare metal, paint engine bay, etc, etc.
Seeing as Ezzy and I go back a long way in the car scene, I've been toying with the idea of respraying mine as well.

Thanks for the info about spraying. I was guessing 5k and up, so it sounds like I was roughly around the mark. It would depend on a lot of factors I guess - like how far through the shell you wanted the colour change, or whether you just wanted it to look good with doors, boot and bonnet shut.
Anyway, I don't think I'll need to do it for quite some time yet.

man.... alot of work involved to full respray an 8..... and i've just realised now :D
front, rear doors and boot are basically shells only, rear windscreen has to come out, so new seals required + the rest
