hey I didn't get comission from Hymee for referring you kunz yet :P

it was a fun drive and I think although the number seemed short I think it may have been better drive because of it we didn't have to worry about losing too many troop by other cars cutting in.

me too will upload some pics soon

p.s. I got my car fully washed now LoL it's been a while since I had a proper carwash I think..

heh heh heh, I thought I heard you guys cooking something up as I went to go. I would have liked to hit a few more of those backroads and find the fabled Scheyville/Cattai Ridge Rd route, but I'm just not very familiar with the northwest, as you could tell!!

As it was, I wanted to be home by mid-afternoon, so heading off was the safest option. 'Er indoors handed me a bush saw and an axe when I got home and pointed me towards a big ***** of a privet that we had to get rid of. So I spent a couple of hours humming "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay!" There wasn't much left of it at beer o'clock.

Awww you such a good boy doing your post cruise pennance without complaint! Would a can of petrol and a match been quicker?? Seem to remember that's what my dad used to use!!

Glad you had a good cruise. My day was tedious and painful and was glad when it was all over! Family BBQ last night brought me back to mother earth nicely and then a good blat home in the car was cool.

Sat nav for cruises in Sydney seems like the weapon of choice! Too many roads for me!!

Hey Guys,

just wanted to say thanks for organising the cruise. Had an awesome time, all i can say is damn you guys are quick! i had trouble keeping up.

I remember Revolver telling me... "nah we weren't pushing hard. The cars got plenty to go, my DSC only kicked in once!!"

here are the things i learnt from yesterday:

1) I must have a RP short shifter
2) my Exhaust pipes looks malnourished and needs to be beefed up (where did you get your exhaust from Gibbo? rick james 5dock? )
3)Need some track time and skidpan time to know the limits of the car.
4)the RX8 can go fast!

Given the proximity of the privet to the timber fence and our neighbours' lazy interest in my activities with all things sharp (who doesn't like to sit on their **** drinking a cold one while someone else sweats ), the pyromanical Adelaide option wasn't really on the cards.

Mind you, I did think fondly of my brother's chainsaw a few times and wished he wasn't 90 mins drive away!

As for sat nav - probably would have helped (assuming a GPS could keep up with our barnstorming run through the Pittown hinterland ). I'm gonna go for another blat out that way soon and find out where I went wrong for future missions.

Hey Eric,

Glad you could come.

Gibbo's the fast one. I had a mirror full of yellow more than once . You'll note he also has an excellent solution to DSC kicking in ...I don't have those cojones for street driving . Me likes to keep the safety net in place .

You'll be surprised what this car can do when you're up it. However, I agree that track days, etc are where this kinda stuff is best explored. Trust me, we were never at more than 7-8/10s.

I agree with your proposed mods. Both add a lot to the fun factor . Ric Shaw is the guy to see if you don't want a Hymee.

From now on, I'm going to insist on the foreground and either have you or kunz standing next to me!

thanks guys =)

I was saving the batteries + CF space (2GB but was taking them as RAW imgs) for the scenic stop(s) we were meant to do for photos but that didnt happen so was kinda spewing. But yeah, got some good shots in the end!

Thanks mate. We had excellent weather for the cruise, and luckily it wasnt too sunny or the shots would have been overexposed.

Great shots Kunz. In one of them showing off the back end of the car taken side on near a wall it looks like the background is black and white and the Yellow really stands out. Did you adjust this with a program?? Looks like it was a fab day!

Thanks Julia!

Yup it was done with Photoshop. I was actually thinking of painting the wall with rust to make it look slightly surreal but as soon as I finished masking that area, I was like.. mmm this looks yummy in BW so i left it at that.

I thought you were gonna sing out on the CB when you wanted to stop for that kinda thing?

I was concentrating on "opportunities" of another kind...
