Need to replace o2 sensor
My engine light came up recently and I took it to Mazda to check.
They told me i have a faulty oxygen sensor and it require replacing and was quoted $350 (on top of the $150 i've paid for them to check that).
Well i decided to go ahead with it anyway and told them to order the parts and book me in.
The day came, drop my car off early in the morning then went to work, got a call about mid day from mazda saying that they dont have the o2 sensor to put in my car as someone has sold my o2 sensor, I was like wtf? His reply was, these things happen and he cant do anything about it.... hmmmmmmmm
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr won't ever go back there again...
So long story short, what's the best way for me to replace my o2 sesnor? Been looking at Online Mazda Parts but i dont really know which part i need.
My car is a 2003 RX8
Hope you guy can help..
Let me know if you need more info...
Thanks

Hi.
Note that there are two very different O2 sensors on our cars. Don't be buying the wrong one. Check your receipts or call the dealer and find out which one.
Edit: From the price, it looks like the front, but you can never tell with dealer pricing, especially Aus.

Sounds like the front one from memory its the cheaper one , go do a search or e-mail Jason Mcbaggie from online mazda parts US even with the crapp exchange rate they will be miles cheaper than the ones in OZ .
I changed both front and rear ones brought them for 70% cheaper than in OZ delivered to my door 7 working days days.
Part numbers for o2 sensors are clearly stated on their web site .
Cheers
Michael

Oxygen sensor, rx-8, front, manual trans 04-07 $251.18
Oxygen sensor, rx-8, rear, manual trans 04-07 $123.55
yeh the rear is cheaper... it says 04-07 model, would it still fit for 03 model ?
