About 250 pictures, I'm happy to burn DVD's for people with higher res photo's for a nominal fee to cover postage etc. PM if you would like the files.

Again well done Monte, great event!

Cheers

Great pics Mike. Personally, these two are my favourites and I can read these blokes minds....

Photo 1. "Move out of the road Enforcer.....I'm on track to crack 1.06...crap...just got noise busted"

Photo 2 "If you think you think you can run the Hymster think again. This turbo will outrun any cops car...!"

For that track, that time is very very very good.
Anything 1:10 and below is damn good on that track.
My time sucked.

Just out of curiosity Danny, how does a 1.10 time on street tyres there translate to semi-slicks? How many seconds do you reckon they give you?

I took Mike for some laps in the slow "let's all have a look" first up session, so he can claim to have gone around Lakeside.........at 60km/h.

Great pics mate. I'll take a copy of the hi res files please. You know where I am - tell me how much, etc....

I think there is 3 seconds there if we had the DSC off which I think was very intrusive at that track (probably good than that most of us had it on then) but if you were more experienced at the track and with lines etc then I think there would be a solid improvement with it off. I know that to be the case on other tracks..And yes I know, we all had to drive home, first time on the track, all go home in one piece blah blah blah, but there wasn't one of us there not trying for a better time than our last in each session.

I'm sure there was time to be had without DSC interfering but it certainly saved my *** on Hungry Corner a few times and yes we were all trying to improve our times but there's trying at 8/10ths and TRYING at 10/10ths. Personally, I left some safety margin in each session and am glad I did so. That is a very unforgiving place if you try that little bit too hard in the wrong part of the circuit...

....so with with semi slicks I could have (should have) made 1.11...with a turbo shave another 3 seconds....1.08.....I wish...

Hi Dave, great to finally meet you on the weekend .

Semi-slicks when compared to a "high quality" road tyre, would be worth at least a 2 second per lap reduction....and quite possibly more.

FWIW I had the DSC active for the whole event....I reckon with big enough Kahunies and plenty of luck (to stay on the black stuff) a low 63 sec lap would be possible. Rod was certainly having a real go!

Cheers,
Danny

This was the first time I had been on this track and it was fantastic. It was also my first time with semi slick tyres. I was running Toyo Proxies R888.

I learnt a lot about semis in my first outing and I should be able to use it more confidently over time. In my first morning run I had around 36 PSI cold and the car was very unstable towards the end of the session. I could not go over 150 on the straight as the car felt like it was going to shoot off the track. At this stage I was thinking that the tyres was a bad investment.

After speaking with a few people about this I reduces my cold temperature down to 30 PSI and the difference was quire noticeable and I was able to hit a top speed of 180 at the end of the front straight. The cornering was also fantastic.

Semis also give me a lot of confidence as the it grips the road well. Around corners the drift was consistent unlike road tires that tend to grip and give, which leaves you you wondering when it will spin.

In my last round I was starting to trust the grip and taking higher speeds on the kink in the straight. With more practice and confidence you could keep the foot to the floor all the way to the first corner. ( I was backing off once I reached the control tower)

172 was my tops at the end of the straight and I was praying the whole time the brakes worked.
