After 3 months, I feel exactly the same as I did when I pulled up on the dealer's parking lot and saw it. I don't imagine this feeling to go away anytime soon. Especially since someone posted that there won't be any changes to the 8 until about 2010.

No but seriously, the car is epic. I love the response and the razor sharp handling and minimal body roll (it's completely stock atm, and i will leave it much that way.
Its quick. Really quick. 2nd gear 110km/h, 3rd gear 160? The car was designed to make me lose my license, so i've really got to keep that thing in check. What i would want though, is a HUD or heads up display unit, which shows me my speed and revs, so i dont need to glance down all the time - even my mate's s13 has a HUD, which is really quite helpful. Alot of the new BMW's have them, i.e. 5, 6, 7 Series. Then again, I went from a Kia Rio 1.5 4 Pot to this, so a pogo stick would seem to be faster... and handle better then that wet sponge of a car. The best feature, that i miss of the Kia, was the handbrake, and large, wet, empty patches of concrete.
it's not environmentally friendly. I'm usually harping on about how we need to save the whales, so this gets a thumbs down from me. I know its a sports car and all of that crap, but this thing consumes. Freaking consumes like an American at an all you can eat. I'm getting 14- 15L /100km.
It is desperately pretty. The RX8 looks the part, its absolutely gorgeous. The curves, the lines and how low it sits even stock, is breath taking. For something that is bung out of a factory, and not hand crafted by old italian men with tiny tools, the car is a visual masterpiece. If it had tan colour leather and black piping inside, with suede inserts, i'd be nursing a semi.
It is the most practical sports car in the world. Riding in the back of a Silvia sucks so much hairy money ********, that its no longer even funny to say that. Sitting in the back of an RX8 is unreal. I fit my 6' 4" goliath of a friend in the back seat behind the passenger without having to amputate both his legs, then later reattach them when we got to our destination - I'm sure he's much more appreciative, because we never sedated him when we cut those suckers off.
Attention grabbing. You see alot of Skylines, Silvias (to a lesser extent), 180's, VLs (if you head out to Dandenong) and 3 series' on the road. Not mentioning the great Aussie boats. The rx8 gets you looks. I had that other thread about 'does it help you get chicks?' And although I haven't got any chicks to date, as a result of the car, it sure does beat driving around in a Kia Rio.
Those are some of my first impressions of the car, I know there are more detailed and techincal things like, oh its engine is made out of silk and runs on cream, type impressions, but as a driver, those are the first things you note. I'm thoroughly enjoying my RX8 experience.

i wasn't swearing. And if i was, its only expressing my true feelings which are amply described by the letters, K U, C and F in combination. Not necessarily in that order.

Secondly, We don't have Walmart here. Nor would we want it.
Thirdly, I don't eat McDonald's because it tastes like... how do you describe it... ****.

Of course you'll also find that the environmental friendliness improves when you settle down a bit with the throttle. Do a long, boring drive at Hume Hughway camera speeds on cruise control and enjoy 10litres/100km :-)

But boy, what a week. Thats the thing you get addicted to the sensation of rapid acceleration and cornering, that the last thing your thinking about are the polar ice caps. Thats the scary bit, it's text book addiction behaviour.
