my bucks day at winton who is in? 20th oct 2007

Hey guys the time has come to start planning my bucks & I have been wondering what to do for it.......

At first i was thinking of going gokarting & having a BBQ but with gokarting sessions costing around $70 for about an hour plus the bbq it would have only taken up about 2-3 hours of the day/night which would have left me wondering what we would do for a few more hours.........

So it was back to the drawing board & after much thinking, i have decided to rent out either Winton Raceway, or DECA for the day. If we go to Winton we would be looking at the 20th of October, as yet I have not looked into DECA as I would like to go to a dedicated track if we can collect the funds & will only look at DECA if I cannot get the numbers we need to pay for Winton. Both guys & girls are invited to this so I don’t think you will be seeing the usual strippers & there will be NO drinking on or near the track, but that doesn’t mean we wont have a ball.

The basics are:

race around the track as much as you like, when you like & if there is enough interest we can do
a cars session a bike session & a drift session

I have also been offered a camping ground for people to camp out on on sat night, if you would like to do this please let me know, im sure a lot will
:D

Also if people want photo's of there cars & a dvd of the day im looking at having a photographer there so please let me know if that would be of interest to you

as a general rule Winton put 20-30 cars on the track per session with out any problems & well spread out on their fun days, by request we have been asked to do smaller sessions so we will be looking at 10-15 cars on the track at a time, thats even more room for mistakes

here is the Winton track & map
[img][/img]

I will also have a bbq running all day
a D.J out on the grass area
& am looking at having a band or 2 there as well
so pretty much (i hope) everything you would need or want for a great party

things you would need

a car to drive around the track in
a helmet
long sleeve top, pants & shoes
& around $100 for the whole day plus fuel

If we go ahead with this it will be run through the Mazda Car Club of Australia as i am the secretary of the club & we will be covered for the cruise up & back as well.

I will need a minimum of 60 people to make this possible so please let all your mates know
I would also need a 50% deposit as soon as the track is hired out to cover the deposit of the track.

if needed I will also organize a helmet group buy through VPW for all those that don’t have helmets so please let me know if you will be needing a helmet when showing interest.
Hope to hear from you asap so I can secure a booking.

PRIZES ON THE DAY

hey guys there will be prizes on the day for

cleanest car (show & shine type thing)
biggest off
best driver
worst driver
slowest driver
hard luck award
best drift
& any more i can think of as i go along
feel free to add any

Guys ive been approached by a few people wondering if i have ever done anything like this before so i thought i would tell you a bit about myself.....

im the secretary of the MCCA, we have organised many events with great success & with out any incidents up to date, we run a tight ship when organising events like this & we have many members who regularly attend track days & compete in them as well. If you have any concerns please feel free to ask & i will be happy to answer them

now i need to know who is in.

also if you are interested i have made up a forum for the event to keep track of whats going on, please sign up & post your contact details in there so i can contact people for payment time...

What you need:

An ambulance to be there?

The people certainly need AASA licence! You cannot drive Winton without a licence, unless you take out a private insurance and you being a qualified professional instructor. If you are doing it with Mazda Car Club, you definitely run under CAMS/AASA.

Come to the RX-8 Nationals on the 6th Oct ... you can see some Mazda rotary running there!

BTW bucks day... extra?!?!?

i'll need to check on the insurance side of things as i was under the impression that the track had public liability, if not the mcca has public liability so joining the club may be the cheaper option, will let you all know how it goes.

So is anyone interested in going?

& yeh bucks day!! extra? um (what you mean)?

act well?
do a good show....

Their family and fun days are not sprints. I have not been to their fun day then I don't know their regulations. I guess it has to be pretty strict. I am guessing that there will be no timing like our sprints. For details you have to ask them. They surely not require licence, not even need a helmet??? I am not sure I just saw a flyer and they were $20... per day.

If they hire out the track to you, which I think it was the case here that they are not running it. Then it thought it will be different from an owner organising one.
Even so, I have been to Winton own test and tune day on each Friday needs drivers to have CAMS/AASA licence. All the club events I have been to (Honda, EXE club, our club, Holden club etc.) you need somesort of licence. In fact, I avoided track driving because of all these "hassle" before. They run in sessions of cars running in intervals, with timing provided.

My introduction of track driving is via Events Oneill. Which is a professional organisation who hire out the track with their own comprehensive insurance, running a banner of "advance driving" course. There are qualified instructors there. Open pits, you are allowed to go on your own.

Our car club has both events on offer.

Now how does your fun day differs? I never been to a fun day - how was the fun day that you have been to operates?

Hey takahashi, I have just called Winton regarding your questions & both AASA licensing & $20 million of public liability for anyone on the track are part of track hire. This means to use that we are completely covered by the cost of hiring the track.....

I hope this clears all your concerns & I hope you guys will be happy to attend the track day....

please let me know if you have any other concerns with this & i will be happy to find out any more information for you....

Im also still looking for more entrance so if you know of anyone that will be interested please let them know.....

Cheers

Drew NO STRIPPERS hehehe, what is it with bucks & strippers arnt the cars good enough **** :D

Hey guys & girls the time has come to start getting serious about the bucks day, could you please follow this link http://drivedays.myfreeforum.org & click on the contacts section & add your details & await further instructions. Please do this as this is my counter for seriously interested parties, once I see over 60 contacts I will go to stage 2, but in saying that we have a limited amount of time left to secure the track so please act now. As part of stage two I will be organizing a pre meet for the next week or two, in which I will be telling you all about the day & also collecting deposits. If you could also let me know what does & does not suit you in the forum in regards to where & when for the pre meet it will be a lot easier to organize.

Once again thank you for your help & I hope to see you all soon.

Cheers
Zoran
