Talking MX-5 to get Twinned soft- and hardtop convertibles.

Found this article in mays issue of CAR. UK.

MX-5 gets a hardtop...

Shock news at Mazda: engineers are working on a folding tin-top roadster as part of the new MX-5 programme. But before purists start panicking, the coupe-convertible does not signal the end of the MX-5 as we know it. The CC version is set to be offered alongside MkIII, which will retain its lightweight canvas roof.

Mazda will be the first manufacturer with twinned soft- and hardtop convertibles. The soft-top roadster should be unveiled at Geneva in March 2005, with European sales pencilled in for the autumn. The CC won't be far behind. Much of its sheet metal will bespoke, to raise the rear end to accomodate the folding roof.

Cheers Michael

I sort of thought it as a "you want to go to your hairdresser after driving" car

Too small for me. No back seat fun!

The small size of the MX5 does not preclude fun. It just encourages creativity and rewards flexibility.

... I mean small as in the cabin... - I rather have a bigger car. It is sort of a car that just fit. I can certainly drive it if someone brought it for me... I am not deneying that

My wife is watching....
