Moisture in the headlights?

Hi all,

It's cold and rainy in Sydney and I've just gotten back from a drive.
I've noticed moisture build up in both of my headlights, in the bottom inside corners. So it's exactly in the same place on both headlights, which is probably not a coincidence.

Yes I have done a search - and only found indefinite answers from american owners.

Have any of u other Aussies noticed the same thing? Has anyone gone to try and get it fixed under warranty? I question whether this would help or not, maybe it's not a fault? or maybe it's just a fault on ALL rx-8 headlights?... since it's happened on BOTH headlights in the exact same place?

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Cheers all.

Yeah, I believe Hymee had one of his done under warranty. Shouldn't be an issue. He is the only local I can recall with the problem.

I had a tail light replaced last week with the same problem. Driver's side with the key hole. Don't know if that was the problem.

Only problem so far with the car

Greetings All,

We have recently had both our xenon headlight assemblies replaced under warranty in Gosford. The original set had developed a cloudy film on the inside which could not be removed as the unit can't be dismantled apparently.

Now the new lights need adjusting as they were too high set after replacement and after another fix they are now too low - should be right the next time then.

Our car is a mid 2003 model so it still has a few months left of warranty. Get on to it sooner rather than later in case that becomes an issue.

A friend of mine in Sutherland got one of the rear light assemblies replaced on his 2003 model a while ago to fix a water problem too. Seems it started to look like a fishbowl...

Regards
Jeffneil

Sounds like it maybe tears of a Rex. Maybe it hasn't felt some loving for a while? Give a big hug or some redlines?

Thanks a lot for the input guys.
Seems like some of you are having bigger problems than I'm having. I'm only getting little droplets of moisture in an area about of about 1 square centimetre, in the inside corner of both headlights. Dries up pretty quick too and didn't happen when I washed the car, so maybe the cold caused some condensation in there.

Anyway i'll keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse. Thanks again for the input everyone.
