Congrats! Another sexy black one on the streets Wait for the batmobile comments to flood in... I've seen all the colours 'cept white (which we can't get in Aus anyway) and I still think Black looks best... doesn't need the silly under spoiler/rear spoiler or anything, just looks sexy as is I think... compared it to another black one I saw with a spoiler, all agreed that without is best :D Of course, they all wanted to drive mine too, so they were probably just sucking up :P

Congrats Wizza, got to love the black. I've had it now for a week and a half and washed it 4 times already. It was raining today so I was out with the polish as soon as it stopped. This is the most fun I've had keeping a car clean.

Thanks guys,

Yes i got the tint done already.

I have a stack of paperwork to do at home for work today, but i might just go for a drive instead because..................well.......just because.

Rained as soon as i got it yesterday and yes i've cleaned it already aswell.
Now just to get those 1000 km's up.

Tell me, what rev range are you guys driving on during break in period. I know below 6k rev's max but what do you sit it on?

REVS

On Freeway sits just over 3k in 6th
Normal driving, 0 - 4 ish k while warming up.

Revved out to 6 in all gears (speed limit permitting of course) to try and 'work' the engine in once warm. When going for good drives in the hills etc tried to keep revs between 4-6k while continually changing gears as appropriate. This keeps the engine working as much as possible to bed in.

Ive used the Meguir's goldclass leather protector. Seems to be a good product.
As far as tint goes, has anyone found it to affect the radio reception given that the antenna is in the back glass and the tints are metallised. Ive been holding off on mine as some of the Americans had commented on this.

Leather and tint

I had the local mazda (mulgrave in melb) protection which means that regular wiping with cloths and sometimes very mild soap will suffice. Seems to be working fine so far

Tint, I had the tint fitted and have had no issue with radio reception. I also live on the eastern outskirts of melb where reception isn't exactly the greatest and have had no issues. Tint looks really good by the way, the silver tint in it makes all the difference.

I (being an American) had heard the same stories about the tint, so I asked the only guy to have tinted ALL of my cars going back to 1983. He pointed out that the antenna is IN the glass and the tint goes on the inside of the glass (duh!), so unless you listen to all AM stations (mostly talk radio in the states), you will notice NO difference.

Even then, the AM reception is only bothered when near power lines. SO, I went ahead and had him do the metallized (excuse me, "metallised" in the Queens English) film --- and --- what do you know! He was right. I listen almost exclusively to AM, and except for the occasional power line issue (once or twice a week for a couple of seconds each), it has been a non-issue.

When my son is in the car (15 years old), he listens to all hip-hop (gee, what a shock), and the FM stations are absolutely unaffected.

The tint has been on almost two weeks now, and my humble opinion is that you have nothing to worry about. Go for it.

Aaarggghhh... I find it hard to decide whether to go for Black or Titanium gray - I ordered a black one, but changed it to titanium... but then I see some beautiful black ones... I can still change my mind, as mine's coming in November.

I love black - I currently drive a black 300ZX (and almost went for the 350Z) - but black is hard to keep clean though.

Now that I have saw titanium in person a couple of times, I can say the pics aren't right. The colour is MUCH brighter in person, only a few shades deaper than silver. If you want a DARK car get the black.

I ended up with Red even though I HATED it in pics, it's totally different in person.

I'm going to stick with Titanium gray. All of you are so lucky. I saw a yellow one today - looks good too. This car looks good in any colour really. :D
