Meet the Enkei boys

ILIV48 (Stuart) and myself went to Essendon Tyrepower to get our Enkei RP03

Our stock rim is 18x8 +50 (weight: 10.0 kg)

Enkei RP03
Stuart's is 19x8.5 +35 (weight 9.3kg)
with Toyo Proxes T1-R 245/35 -19 93Y
Price: 4500 fitted and balanced

Mine is 18x8 +40 (weight 8.8kg)
with my old Michellin Pilot Sport PS2 235/40 ZR 18
Price: 2100 fitted and balanced (wheel only)
I also have the wheel nuts from Autoexe.

I love to have Stuart's 19 but he does not want to swap :o I keep tell him how light my wheel is but it does not work 19 looks great but 18 is lighter :p
I am looking at cheap option to find a second set of wheel and put a set of semislick on them... now I can :p

Enjoy the pics

Big thanks to Ricki at Essendon TyrePower for the fitting and excellent wheel align and toe adjustment (I have to plug this since I will get next one free :D)

Hey....real nice!! Taka, are yours a lighter colour, or are Stu's just in the shade? How much was each 18", 19" tyre/corner?

You have to ask Stu this... I think I am ok since the rim has the tyre to protect. Mine is the same as stock but Stu's is lower profile

No it is the pic, same shape same colour. Just Stu's is bigger.

The price is in the starting thread :p

But the tyre breakdown for Stu is $390 each. Mine is old tyre Gomez.

Yep the bank manager is still sobbing, but as for potholes they should be fine. The wheels are made by the new MAT process which means a 15-20% weight reduction and approx 20% strenght increase over similiar style alloy wheels.

Today I have recieved so much attention on the road it's not funny. Every set of lights there is someone wanting me to put the window down to chat including one STI driver who almost run up the **** of a Magna because he was pretty much hanging out his window to get a look :D

I'm the guilty party here. I knew he wanted some 18 RP03's so when Ricki said he could get his hands on some of these in 18's at a really low price I called Taka. Heck if I was going to be broke then someone should join me :D I didn't take the deal myself as I really wanted the 19's and am know so happy I stuck with that. :D

I will post a review on the Toyo T1-R's once they have had a little chance to bed themselves in, but so far they are exceptional. Even though lower profile the ride quality is way superior to the OEM Bridgestones. Give them a couple weeks to break in then performance test time!

Well done guys - they look great!! I'll do a photochop to see what they'll look like on the yellow. Will be really interested to hear how those tyres perform, Stuart.

I wanted something to spend more money on later in the year!

The T1-R is brand new with much improved performance in virtually all catagories over the T1-S. I have a friend that has gone from the T1-S to the T1-R and he said the difference was night and day.

The T1-S has been heavily discounted over the last 6 months to get rid of the remaining stock so as to make way for the T1-R. Also as the T1-R is the latest technology Toyo has in tyres so they probably placed the price point higher.

Sorry michael they only come in this finish in Australia. Japan also has them in chrome but that as yet is not available to the export market, although you could probably order them straight from Japan yourself.

As I needed new tyres it really was the right time to go 19's. Taka still has really good Pilot Sports with a lot of tread left so going 19's and having to buy new tyres did not make a lot of sense. Besides I'm envious of Taka's Mazdaspeed spoiler so now he can be a little envious of my 19's :p

To be honest though the 18's on Takas car look bloody great and with the appearance package and Mazdaspeed spoiler his car still looks a lot hotter than my naked 8 with 19's

Now Michael go and please your wife. The quicker you go and do it the quicker the path to new wheels :D

OK here is one image of the Enkei RP03 close up. All my other shots were the same as Taka's but not as clear so it is not worth it posting them here. Go to page one and you'll see better than mine. Taka's not bad with his camera!

Closeup of the 19inch RP03 wearing the 245/35/19 Toyo T1-R rubber

I am not defending for my choice and I think Stu's 19" looks better than 18"

I choose 18" because:
I don't want to change tyres and keep using 19"
It is lighter.
It is cheaper as I only want a second set of rims for semislick. If there is anything as light as this and cheaper in 18"... I will take that

I will choose 19" if
I need new tyres anyway.
I want to look good but still under the stock wheel weight.
Money is no object and I am as rich as Stuart
