Mazdaspeed In Oz?

Does anybody know of a supplier for genuine Mazdaspeed parts in Australia?

Prefer them to be in Sydney if possible.

When it comes to the source of RX parts in Oz. Contact Darrin Ray from Gosford Mazda on 02 4337-8099

He can get all the Mazdaspeed parts you want aswell as great prices on the Rx-8 parts & anything else to do with rotaries.

I gave him a call today and was disappointed that he hadn't received the RX8 catalogue yet.

So it appears that I'll have to wait for his phone call before I can spend some hard earned dough.

I'm a bit of an impatient pr##k, so I think I'm going to go with an exhaust from Ric Shaw as opposed to Mazdaspeed.

Can't imagine the MS exhaust to be too cheap, so at least I'll be saving some dough to spend on something else.

Will wait to see pricing on MS bodykit and coilovers though.
I'll let you know how I go.

ps You believe a HKS exhaust cat back is $2875? I thought my usual bloke was kidding. Only paid $1100 for Type R one and $1350 for 200sx one. Highway robbery!

yeh well thats why i considered hymee exhaust. A RX8 i was lookin at had a titanium R1 Amuse catback exhaust system on it and he paid around $2000 it sounds good but not overly fantastic, hymee's stainless steel is half that price and sounds better.

Also on the dyno sheets it hasnt dropped in power but increased a very little bit.

I am looking for either HKS or RE Amemiya catback...

MS part - import the whole thing cost $10K!!!

Hi guys,

I have decided to go the whole hog on exhaust, a specialist exhaust shop in canberra has researched the exhaust sytem for rx8. They have designed a system from engine back that will give considerably more grunt to the rx8. This is being done next week. I dont know about price but if it is successful it might be worth considering. My car will be the guinea pig, but these guys know there stuff, and they were not prpared to do anything till they were convinced themselves it was going to work.
Dale.

Not john, but he has had input into the whole thing. He is currently looking into the renesis motor, and it looks like the renesis is going to be better supercharged rather than turbocharged. This is a possible mod later. The whole aftermarket scene is only just starting to take off, as i am sure you are all aware.

I just spoke to Darren from Gosford Motor Group for the accessories to be fitted.

if i would have gone through a mazda dealer it would have cost me $2900 excluding painting & fitment, but with these guys all the parts, painting & fitting for $2850.

Thanks DMRH as Darren has been most helpfull.

Taka,

Whoever quoted you $10k for the MS exhaust is either pulling your leg or trying to severely rip it off

US dealers are selling the system for US$1400, so with our exchange rate, it should cost $1800-$1900 AUD.

Now even if you get the system shipped overnight express, I doubt it's going to cost you $8200 in shipping costs.

If you are prepared to pay the dough for it, contact some of the US dealers as I am sure they are happy to ship to Oz.

Man that's expensive for bits of plastic!
Better wait for a fibreglass copy and save your self $8K.

Well rotary extreme has a fibreglass copy of the MS bodykit for US$1500 plus paint ship and tax...

With 1 A$ = 0.8 US$ ... sound like a reasonable deal

Spoke to Mazda Oz HQ today and was told that Mazdaspeed parts are actually undergoing testing here in Australia.

It seems that the plan will be that if the parts pass ADR, we all will be able to buy MS parts through Mazda Australia.

This is to cater towards Mazda's "Zoom zoom" theme of sportiness and individuality.

Don't know about you, but I'm excited and can't wait for MS goodies!

Found a place in Sydney that can supply a Mazdaspeed exhaust system and possibly other MS goodies.

Give Just Jap Auto Imports a bell on (02)9545 0532 and ask for Tony.

These guys are importers of used Jap hi-po cars and parts, but they can land a brand new MS exhaust for $1800.

Maybe contact them and try and get a group buy price?

Bit late for me unfortunately, I've already ordered a HKS system which is in transit.
