The Mazda 6 mps will be on sale in may 2005 in the UK priced at 24,000 pounds being approx $62,000 AUS it will be unveiled at the paris Motor show this September .

Features 2.3 litre turbo four 260bhp with 240lb ft .

Transmission is a 6 speed manual all wheel drive 0-62 in 6.o sec top speed 150mph .

Personally there are far too many Mazda 6 s out there so unless you look hard you wont notice this car . :p

All wheel drive is interesting , maybe they will make the MPS RX8 all wheel drive ???

They mention a mazda 3 mps on the shelves but nothing on the mps rx8 .

My dealer asked me if i would be interested in one , i told him that unless it had a RX7 badge in front of it and put out in excess of 230kw with a rotary engine i would be going backwards . :D

RX-8 is 22000 pounds so it is likely to be around high 60K for the MPS 6

But will it come here?

Mazda better not messup the handling, I can smell understeer with front big turbo engine with 4WD in a 6...

Taka the australian motor magazine has the mps 6 listed as an upcoming model .

My dealer has already taken a deposit for one , i know most car dealers are full of bull **** , but this guy is a straight shooter.

Well it has been up there for years! So did the RX-8 with 206kW before and the EVO 8 as a production car, not low volume import --- I don't think you should trust any thing printed there at all :o. They nearly said there is a Merc SLR for test drive in South Yarra here :D

Also we are getting it around March 2005 and so is Aussie.

 

i have those pics too from around the time when it was shown at the shows in europe. any indication that the final product will look close to the show car? maybe newer pics? if its coming to the UK for 2005 than it means it likely wont make the States until 2006-7. if it follows the regular 6 rollout of all 3 variants for sale there for over a year before here and now the awd variant of the wagon(saloon) out there but not here for 8-12 months yet. seems they just cant get the line here in the states up to speed as quick as the european one. probably because they will be producing the new mustang at the same plant.

My new job we convert all the US stuff to RHD for Ford and Chrysler etc.

Yes... I look under the microscope and diagnose the disease in slides... "a histopathologist". It is nice to be a diagnostic specialist, much like the radiologist.

MPS 6 is going to be good. Any picture of the interior?? Better not be like a hot up Lancer or WRX. hmmm

no wonder they can make the 6 a 4wd. has anyone seen the size of the transmision tunnel?
there was a 6 in the shopping centre with the bonnet up and the space behind the standard motor is impressive! they clearly had plans for other drive methods.
