Leather interior not available on Winning Blue?
Guys,
I just check the Mazda Australia website and found out the Winning Blue does not have leather interior option
. It is only available under "RX-8" only and the colour of the seat is black and grey colours. I think it is cloth seat. If yes, I'm very disapointed that winning blue is only available on cloth seat. Because winning blue is my first choice for leather interior. I may go for Velocity Red instead of Winning blue.
I'm so sorry that my English is not well. :p
Cheers,

It may be worth checking again with Mazda Australia. The Winning Blue RX-8 which was drawing decent crowds at the Sydney Motor Show had leather.
As a poverty pack owner myself I'd say don't discount the cloth seats. They actually look pretty smart with a mixture of alcantra ( synthetic suede) in two shades of grey plus black ribbed cloth - easy to look after and grippy too. I certainly don't feel short changed relative to the leather, and you avoid the plastic silver/grey seat backs, which scratch rather easily and cheapen the look of the dead cow IMHO.
BTW although I love my Velocity Red, having seen it and the Winning Blue side by side at the motor show, if I had my time again I'd be sorely tempted by the Blue. It seems to have a lot more metallic in it. The red looks sensational in bright sunlight, but loses most of its metallic look in the shade or indoors: the blue doesn't.

NickG, the difference between the two colours is that the red is a mica paint, while the blue is a conventional metallic (containing silver). I hadn't noticed that the red "dulls off" in the shade......
Original, you can get leather with the Winning Blue, you just can't get red leather. You couldn't get red leather in the now unavailable yellow RX-8, you still can't get it in a green one either.
So if you want leather in a Winning Blue RX-8, you'll have to have the black stuff.
Regards, Gomez.

You better check www.mazda.com.au for detail. Winning Blue does not have black or red black leather now.
Cheers

That's interesting Gomez. The blue certainly looks a LOT brighter, if the indoor lighting at the motor show is any example. Now I know why. The motor show car is actually the very first blue I've seen where I live on Sydney's far North side. Damned nice it was too!

It better not be true - not when I'm approx 3 months from ordering my RX-8!
My first (and only preference) is Winning Blue/Luxury Pack.
Hopefully it's just a glitch on the Web site.
I'm ringing up tomorrow to find out.

Which part of the Mazda site are you guys looking at?
I just had a look, the Winning Blue is still available with black leather:
http://www.mazda.com.au/articleZone1...D=2349#winning
The colour swatch doesn't appear but if you move your mouse 2 spots right of the "blue" swatch on the bottom line and Winning Blue magically appears.

I think the RX-8 Colour Page is FUBAR'ed
Looking at the page linked by nojooc there are some obvious errors including the fact that Strato Blue colour rectangle has a tag of "nordic green" and the RX-8 goes Nordic Green. In addition, the tags for Strato Blue and Winning Blue remain and the RX-8 changes colour accordingly but the actual sample rectangles for the two Blues are missing.
I'm hoping it's just another crap web-page error.
Still ringing a Mazda dealer tomorrow though.

BLAH!
I didnt notice RX8 manual leather pack had a mark up.
I remember RRP was at the time i purchased, 62610?
It'd be nice if they got rid of the nordic and bring on the white.
Anyone seen a nordic in reality?

Did anyone get any decent info today?
I rang a Brisbane dealer but couldn't get any positive information about continued availability for Winning Blue + Leather.
After a pause they did tell me there were 4 unallocated Winning Blue + Leather available (no timeframe given) - would I like one?
Well yes I would but I'm on a promise to my wife to achieve some financial targets before splashing out on a RX-8.
Anyone else got anything to add?
I'll probably try another dealer tomorrow.

Gday guys.
I got one of those. Gee I'm glad they are rare now & maybe getting rarer!!
Lucky me heh!! The black leather (only option when I purchased in Feb04) looks sensational with the Winning Blue. I have seen all colours & am extremely pleased with the blue.

One of the things I've always liked about Mazda has been the wide range of colours on offer for most models - especially compared to some other manufacturers who only offer a handful of unexciting colours on many of their models. Now as part of the increasing globalisation of the product lines we are seeing fewer colours and also a trend towards what I consider less-appealing "safer" colours for the real mass markets.
